Since they could defend themselves and they were watching the homes while the men were away and keeping the Helots in line, I was wondering if they will have any part in the mod.

I would imagine they are busy producing strong babies on behalf of the state, as is their lot, since a few of your warriors won't be coming home

A trait/follower like 'Spartan Wife' could be used to represent the larger role Spartan women played. This trait/follower would improve public order, reduce corruption traits, reduce squalor, and improve troop morale

I think a female spartan unit could work, as long as the AI doesnt build lots of them or takes them out of Sparta.

Such a unit could only work if it was automatically generated in Sparta if it is attacked.

From what I understand, women in Sparta had it better off than women in most other Greek cities. They lived healthy lives, didn't rush into marriages, weren't restricted to their homes, and the wealthier ones even participated in the Olympic chariot races (sometimes winning).

I agree. I like the idea of a unit of Spartan lady hoplites, but it wouldn't work in a mod like Heg if it was player-recruitable. Spartan women rampaging across Greece, conquering city states would be unrealistic.

I agree. I like the idea of a unit of Spartan lady hoplites, but it wouldn't work in a mod like Heg if it was player-recruitable. Spartan women rampaging across Greece, conquering city states would be unrealistic.

Yes, Spartan women could defiantly fight and were willing to defend themselves, they weren't week women.

But they should only appear if Sparta itself is under siege.

i agree there should be a garrison script for sparta to spawn spartan women.

Hmm, the Athenian Acropolis Guard unit could work like that as well, being spawned only when Athens itself is attacked instead of being a normal recruit-able unit.

yeah, but you lose allot of unit slots because of this... so I wouldn't do it
but i'm not in the heg team so...
