Minor Nations Government
Hello ETW Community,
I currently have the minor nations unlock for ETW. I have enjoyed it so much that my ingame nation of Westfalia has grown to many other regions. I am having great trouble with changing government type (I am sick of the rebellions and strikes in my large empire.) I would love to have a republic but each time I try the revolutionary army in my capitol does not give me the chance to side with them. Isn't there anyway to correct this?

Re: Minor Nations Government
Hmmm... I may be wrong, but because it is a minor nation, does it still have the ability to change government forms? It's just, CA didn't mean for these factions to be playable, i.e. why they aren't unlockable in game. One of the reasons probably because of some 'incompleteness' in the faction. One of the things, probably be government types.
Again, i'm not 100% on that, but it makes sense to me.
Also, can you send me a link to what mod your using? I'm very interested in trying one out..

Thanks for your quick reply Lizard king i am using this one http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=262048 but I forget what attached file I downloaded I think it was Early Campaign No FOW Bug!.zip. The mod is great for early play except for this government ordeal *sigh. I was hoping there would be some coding cheat or something that you could just do a (Example)
WESTFALIA: REPUBLIC in some file. < and yes i know nothing about coding.

Re: Minor Nations Government
It's okay, and your welcome.
But don't just take my word for it, as I don't know. This is just my logic/reasoning. I'd wait around a bit, and see if a more experienced player/modder can help you. And thanks for the link!
Rep for you haha.

I've had the same problems. Minor nations are pretty fun to play, but they aren't 100% functional. Sorry I can't offer any modding help, but you're definitely not the only person with the problem you outlined.

Re: Minor Nations Government
^ Exactly. They were meant to be glorified rebels, if you've played the older games. Adding a government change was just unnescessary work, considering; 1, noone is supposed to play as them; and 2, who cares if say... Hannover becomes a republic? Its not a giant effect on gameplay.

Re: Minor Nations Government
First of all you can make minor factions have the same abilities with majors. Just check some easy modifications in my STARTPOS.ESF tutorial. About government change it is fairly easy to change it. Open startpos.esf with EsfEditor, go in [...]CAMPAIGN_MODEL/WORLD/FACTION_ARRAYS/FACTION(Westphalia)/GOVERNMENT and enter in second line gov_republic. Also in GOVERNMENT/GOV_IMP/GOV_IMP delete GOVERNMENT:ABSOLUTE_MONARCHY and paste over GOVERNMENT/GOV_IMP/GOV_IMP the GOVERNMENT_REPUBLIC. You can find it in Netherlands FACTION record (some records over Westphalia).
Happy new year!
