Default How to make Faction gameplay unique?

Mod is almost perfect, very well balanced, good looking and following the lore! Every factoin has quite unique gameplay, what I think is missing, is it's own unique story - made from events and objectives.
I made this thread that everyone who have some ideas could post them here, and maby some day in nearer or farther future, devs will be willing to consider them.

As Isnengard is my favorite I think about their story most of all!

So mode starts approximately 50 years before war of the ring, that makes Isengard as faction without army, with one leader and one settlement. Moreover, Saruman was ally with rohans, his only neighbour.
Isengard could be settlement with gardens and libaries, and very rich.
The first army could consist of some orcs (pheraps new unit -servents of Eye). You have to use your only military force to hold Dunenling villages and towns in east of you,or you can try to bribe them. When control over the region is established, new dunenling units are unlocked and you can start to look at land of Rohan, breaking the alliance could unlock mines, orc pits blacksmith and other buildings. Isengards machine of war has started to move. Rise the war against Rohan, and don't forget to seak for the Ring (if it's importance will be bigger).
It's my idea for makeing game even mor interesting, althought it can make some problems if Isengard is handled by computer.

Feel free to make aditions or yout own ideas!

This is true they already have bio traits for some of the Heros and main characters which adds a pretty big bonus to those generals

You should definately try DaC 4.0 when it comes out. It really gives every faction an unique play-style.
Isengard for example is choosing between good or evil. This descision has a lot of influene on your game. Unit roster, scripts, buildings, the white council, everything. Good has its advantages and bad has advantages.

I like the idea to give each faction more of its own story, this would add to the immersion of the game (which of course already is good). Some ideas might be for the dwarves to become incredibly rich again or for eriador to become more advanced by having better advanced cities.

Do you mean these goals should be victory condition? I fear people will find these things not so interesting - most people are interested mostly in warfare after all when tehy play a Total War game... but if you could give some incentive to act like this, like something really interesting happening, it would be great: I think what DG wanted to do for Eriador goes in that direction: if you rebuild cities, get more advanced, you can rebuild Arnor.

It would be interesting to get such lore-related great quests as special missions for all factions. Would add some variety to the quite repetative standard missions, too. Only problem would be to make really interesting rewards without making them too powerful.

I wouldn't go as far as making them victory conditions, but as a kind of 'alternative' gameplay, which provides bonuses if you complete various missions, like for the Dwarves to build a mine, if they do, they might get a unit as a reward. Good rewards would be to improve the relationship with other factions, or give titles to generals without drastically influencing the balance.

Though there could be additional victory conditions like: 'own three large cities' for Eriador, or: 'have 500,000 florins' for the Dwarves. I would love this, but other people might not.

I think however that many people will like this as it just adds to the immersion.
