Grand Campaigns will not launch.
Greetings!
I bought Medieval 2, and Medieval 2: Kingdoms over steam a few days ago (ugh i know)
Once it finally installed medieval 2 it ran just fine, everything worked just fine. However when I tried to play a kingdoms campaign it would just say "Please select an item from the list" - there is no list, just a box that says that and a check mark to close it... One of the campaigns for kingdoms (America) it will get past that, but once i select "Spanish" and click play it just goes back to main menu.
I am not using any mods, i just bought it and haven't done anything to it.
I tried verifying integrity of game cache - everything says its fine, it was saying "1 error found" but after a few trys it fixed it.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling... however.. I cant uninstall kingdoms because its not in my "add/remove program list", and steam when i tell it to uninstall it, it deletes some files (about 400) but still says its installed. And I cannot uninstall Medieval 2 regular (I do see this in add/remove) because it says kingdoms is installed, and I'd have to uninstall that first. Like wise I also cant delete the medieval folder because some file is being used - think it was a .dll.
I assume everything is up to date because steam auto updates.
I have no idea what to do
Thanks, and help! lol

Re: Grand Campaigns will not launch.
Are you using Vista or Win 7? If so, disable the UAC and try, again.

Re: Grand Campaigns will not launch.
It can be done. It just takes a little longer.
Go into the Medieval2 folder and delete the files and folders from the bottom up and when you hit that error, make a note of it. Continue deleting the rest of it and keep a log of all the files that won't let you delete them.
On the ones the can't be deleted conventionally, right-click them and see if they are read-only. If they are, uncheck it and try to delete it again.
If you can't get it all deleted that way, report back. The next step can be brutal to some people.
