Default Add a little extra money.

    All,

Does anyone know how you can add a little extra money in the campaigns? As i play on hard i am finding it slow and frustrating starting with what u start with. So i want to add a little bit more to make it a bit more exciting. Is it something you have to edit in the startpos?

    Cheers

In the Empire Optimized thread (empiretaketwo) there are new downloads that massively increase the starting cash. For example, I had 67,000 as France. Don't know if that was the intention but it's what happens.

Thanks all though this does give me a little extra money to start with it cancels all unit and ships cost so i can recruite as many units as i want and it does not cost to up keep them. This part takes the Military challenge out of the game. Thanks anyways. Do you know of a way of manual editing what ever u have to edit to achieve this?

    Cheers

I'm not sure but it would probably involve altering the startpos.esf file. There is a thread/section on startpos.esf mods somewhere on the forum.

-Open your startpos and go to:
    Campaing Env\Campaign Model\World\Faction array\Faction array\...
    -Open your faction, ex.France
    ...\Faction array\ France \Faction economics
-The first line is the starting treasury
    Put what you wanna.
    Ex: 15000
    -Save.

    Make backups before change anything.

There is a tutorial for this:

you really don't want to unlimit things as the AI will spam.......I unlimited everything and all I fought were elites.....it was very....frustrating. The AI will only build what wins in auto resolve, which comes in the form of cav and cannons, elites, etc. You'll wonder how a bankrupt france can recruit swiss guards and irish regiments up the butt

I am actually playing as france all i have done is raise the starting amount from 8000 to 15000. When playing on hard i lose about 90% of my territory in america. as the AI seem to build an army really quick, and not having enough to start with makes the next ten years or so boring as u have to wait untill ur funds increase before u can raise an army good enough to fight back. at least now i can build a few extra units in america, will and think it will be more of a challenge.

    Cheers
