Which version of Christmas If any do you celebrate
I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a. Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow
The atheist Christmas.

Appreciation for any family and friends I have, try to make a nice turkey/chicken dinner (or go to friends place that makes one), attempt to give out Christmas gifts (hoping that they appreciate the thought the most) and hope to recieve some gifts in return.
Overall it's a time for family, food and gifts, for me.
I bought a $20 Christmas tree, it's small, but it comes with nice lights and I put some excess decorations on it and it's very cute, much better than having a gigantic tree that costs 2/8th of my paycheck.
That's my AtheistChristmas
Commercial Christmas my ass.
I go to the cathedral for morning mass, then i open presents and have christmas lunch or dinner and watch tv or dvds.
My family is not religious, but its tradition to go to church.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
Neither the "commercial" or the "church" version. As a polytheist, I cannot celebrate the religious observation of Christmas; and I don't really like commercialism, so I wouldn't say that I celebrate a "commercial" holiday, though commerce is certainly a part of the Christmas period.
I celebrate the secular, national holiday called Christmas which emphasises family, togetherness, community, and goodwill.
No religious or commercial strings attached.

I went to Mass at dawn, then celebrated the commercial part with extended family.Gift-giving, whole-day feasting and bonding time.
*Commercial part is defined the buying of gifts, spending, etc, as these are commercial activities.![]()
Makibaka para sa Pambansang Demokrasya na may Sosyalistang Perspektiba!SERVE THE PEOPLE.
Commercial and religious.
Although this year the commercial side sucked (I couldn't find anything for "santa" to buy me [me buy for myself lol], not getting many gifts this year).
Forget the Cod this man needs a Sturgeon!
I celebrate the actual christmas.![]()
I celebrate the christmas that involves eating nice food three nights in a row.
Beyond that I don't really care what its called. All I know is that if Jesus was never born, we wouldn't be killing so many animals for mass consumption every december 8D I blame Jesus for the greedy and needless ending of millions of animal's lives every year.
I have approximate answers and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I’m not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I don’t know anything about. But I don’t have to know an answer. I don’t feel frightened by not knowing.
- Richard Feynman's words. My atheism.
This is how it's been for awhile-
-Dinner party with family and friends
-Midnight mass
-In the morning we open up presents
-Head out and visit other family members for presents

This, too. But I don't do so on Christmas, since Yule (at least my religion's iteration of it) is traditionally celebrated on the 21st of December.
The twenty-fifth is Christmas, and I maintain it as a separate, non-religious holiday from Yule. Because it, you know, is.

So? The Christians in the Roman Empire were, surprising as it might be to you, heavily influenced by Roman culture. So it stands to reason that they'd put their winter holiday on the same date as the Roman winter festival. And they later accrued other cultural customs from across Europe.
Doesn't mean that they are the same festival. You can celebrate Yule and Christmas separately, for example.
