    I appear to have the same problem and don't quite know how to work around it.

    I make the My_mod.pack with some changed tables which don't touch the orginals but nothing actually changes.

    I can only asume that there is something making it use the orginal files and not the mod ones....

    Mod manager shows My_mod and lets me lauch it but no changes apparent!

    Driving me nuts!!

    I've managed to get some things working which is weird but not the change in unit names- for example, Superior line infantry to "fusiliers" or Black Watch to Highland Regiment etc.

    I have managed it appears to create a mod which allows me to change the unit size of Grenadiers to the same size as infantry but I can't get them to get rid of the grenades and form squares (not that they are very great squares but thats another issue). And although I can change the unit limits, for example max 8 Grenadier units for each faction, and allowing Prussia and Austria to recruit Hessians, I can't change the price of units to reflect the higher number of men!

    I'm clearly doing something wrong but not sure what!!!

    kind regards

    By following exactly as the DBeditor instructions said and then adding in the little bit of text into a folder which name I forgot (sorry- will try find it again) which simply said - "mod My_mod.pack"

    Its working fine with no problems (the kind of changes I have made are really conservative though) but some things still don't seem to take effect such as re naming units.

    below is what I read elsewhere so credit goes to this person not me.

    You can enter a command line with the name of your mod in the user.empire_script, too, in the following manner...

    mod "my_mod.pack";

    ...save in Unicode, exit the script file and launch ETW the normal way through Steam.

    All said assuming that you have placed your mod in the data folder of ETW.
