It has do go, please tell me how in the simplest of terms.
I can't understand a reasoning for it's inclusion, it is very jarring and grabs you by the face and rips you violently away from any immersion you had.
God help me and thank you.

"...I'll look for something else. We're surrounded by water. Why are we eating knob?"
you can do this several different ways: make sure your game is unpacked (go ahead and skip this)
1. simply remove from sounds the music folder then return too data and delete all of the sound
files
2. do not remove anything, go into medievalII/data/mods/data/sounds/music and remove the tracks that bother you
then go back to medievalII/data/mods/SS/data open desc_sounds_music and edit accodingly
3. is self explanatory do as in option 2 and just simply replace with your own tracks (make sure your entries follow grammatical (punctuation)of the format for the others)
good luck!

If you got that method to work, I'm pretty sure thats what I tried and it just didn't work. I'll try that again tonite and see what happens.
I hope your not tempting me into a genre argument... or you don't have the RR/RC 6.2.
There are these tracks on the campaign map that are horrible pop music. It's a canned beat with every culture getting his due with cliched moans, cries, or utterances about crossing the sea or other themes with a toe curlingly optimistic tone, set to said awful beat.
It's hard to focus on your invasion of Scotland when when those tracks come and you struggle to stay coherent and not just shout hashbrowns to the next person who talks to you.

"...I'll look for something else. We're surrounded by water. Why are we eating knob?"
Moved to submods forum
Mute the music from Audio Options =p
Either it's just me, or WTF? I have the latest compilation, and even tho it does add music, I'd hardly call it pop...
Some isn't...some of it is good and fits the setting, then the awful generic beat begins and the woman who sings in only one note about crossing the sea or the sands or some other nonsense starts wailing. It totally does not fit the mood or setting of the game.
I just don't understand someone that self indulgent with a music selection.
"...I'll look for something else. We're surrounded by water. Why are we eating knob?"
You forgot the that before self indulgent. You would just think than when making a compilation mod that is supposed to be basically the continuation of SS, you would maybe feel obligated to not shoehorn in loud weird euro/pop/chant/inspirational music just because you happen to like it. Either you have to suffer it or turn the music completely off just to neutralize a few horribly jarring tracks....or figure out how to remove them without screwing up your files.
"...I'll look for something else. We're surrounded by water. Why are we eating knob?"
the music files added by the compilation are all in wav format and there fore do not show up in the music folder, i want to find them too, to put on my ipod if possible, but also to make sure i dont screw them up when adding in my gregorian chants.
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great compassion. Your delight is not in horses, nor Your pleasure in warriors strength..."
Well everyone and their mother, including yourself appear to recommend this version...the only reason I downloaded it was from the praises and urgings of others.
No, I haven't looked...I may have to as I like the mod, but when those tracks start it's like a punch in the gut.
"...I'll look for something else. We're surrounded by water. Why are we eating knob?"
if anyone wants some more medieval music have a look here and see if any are suitable for use in the game:
http://www.jsayles.com/familypages/earlymusic.htm
the person responsible has given permission for the music to be used freely.
let us know which tracks could be used with the compilation.
As far as I know you cannot add music until he makes an update. I forget exactly but all the music files are shoved into the file that auto creates the music list when it compiles and thus cannot change music. Was one of the first things I noticed on the release and was told just to wait for a new compilation. Haven't really been able to play mtw2 since because i just cant stand the music LOL
Although I do agree that if it is indeed a compilation, there should be an option on the "poppy" music being added or not, but you also did not have to be obnoxious, or I'm just a sensitive camel. Anyways, merry xmas and uh ya.
I wish the main menu track for Sid Civ 4 was in Medieval 2. I really liked that song
