Default Gondor. If we fall, who shall stand...?

No one seems to care really.

Unless you play as gondor your self or quickly send -a lot of help- soon, gondor will typicaly lose osgiliath and soon after lose everything else to harad and Mordor.

When gonor fails, it starts a big reaction makeing mordor a literaly unstopable powerhouse, rolling out full double stacks, maybe two per turn and that only includes the ones I can -see-

It would be nice if gondor had a bit more of a chance against the evil powers smashing it from either side. I know it is lore relative, they didn't really stand much chance alone but it remains in most of my games if I do not play gondor myself, drawing the line and doing everything in my power to hold back constant waves of orcs and Corsairs, without any help as the rest of the races just go *So what...?* and do not help.

I think really a few people had a nice idea for a soultion to the races not helping each other at all, a White council, calling on all good races to a crusade. Any chance of this being implimented soon?

I thought this was the function of walls?

Yes it is but if Gondor is still out numbered the defences won't matter. Unless I'm wrong and being in the defences as the Ai against Ai outside?

Only if the AI can make some intelligent use of the stone fords of the Rammas.
    I pray for that.

The weak-chinned Gondorians are just doing as they should.

Like Papine said 1.4 patch is going to do something about it. Rammas Echor will be added and KK also mentions "some balance changes." I hope it makes Gondor and especially Minas Tirith survive much longer.
We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.

True. With the Elves (and I think especially the high ones - not talking about XTC here -), you are pretty much invincible with your super-units

The power of the dark lord cannot be concealed by the elves alone. Elrond knows best

Mordor usually takes minas tirith though they don't tend to push further in... sometimes gondor can even liberate it. I have never seen harad own a gondorian territory they usually cannot push past talfalas and barad harn. Plus it's always fun to come to their aid as an allied faction like with dale or rohan... occupy w osgilliath and massacre the wretched orcs on the bridge

    Understand what you mean.
That's the reason why I don't like to play Gondor very much, cause you're constantly fighting 3 battles per turn. But you should try the Dwarves, they give a good battle vs the endless hordes of orcs.

That's funny since for me that's why I don't like to play any other faction than Gondor very much. At least I can hold Harad and Mordor in bay, but if defences of Gondor are left to AI, they are butchered almost immediately. For me that breaks immersion very effectively. It just feels wrong when the White City falls only after few turns in campaign. Shouldn't it be the greatest of remaining fortresses of men?
