I got this picture while playing a campaign as the British with fog of war on. Apparently, this dude was starting a rebellion, and he has the authority trait thing... That's something only kings get, right? So why does this guy have it?

Peter is the leader of the bulgarian revolt. There will also be armies assaulting Adrianople and Skopje.
Yeah, I know. But isn't authority a stat only kings get...?
Looks to me that he thinks himself a king.

Only Faction Leaders get Authority, so this guy is the Faction Leader of the Rebels. Most likely because he's spawned like one.

Go go Bulgarian revolt! I wish they would appear as an emergent faction but...
well it actually could be possible- if were talking about 6.2 rr/rc youd have to replace the now unused knights templar faction with a bulgarian faction, and have them come from the uprising, however youd have to use existing units since the unit cap is reached.
id personally support georgia getting that slot instead- or maybe abbassids if you want another muslim faction. either way a faction playable from the start would be nice- however you could use the knights templar slot in the late campaign for bulgaria to play from the start.
the problem with bulgaria however is that area is already hugely crowded- and if the byz or hungary is controlled by the player theyll just get curbstomped- just like the uprising does whenever i play one of those factions.

I disagree. I think Milan needs to come back.
Genoa == Milan
also, the bulgarian revolt was led by 2 generals, brothers, one of them was called Ivan Asen I and Teodor (later renamed to Petar/ Peter)
Genoa replaces Milan, but it isn't Milan. I'm saying I want Milan back with Genoa. Who says they can't start with one city that's really rich in trade and has a lot of units in it to start with?

My Vote for another faction would be the Abbasids, simply because the Crusaders do little to curb Egypt's absolute monopoly on the Holy Lands. Between Egypt & Kwarezem there needs to be another faction.

There are other extensive threads already devoted to discussing which other factions to include. Please continue the discussion there.
