Events only?

I really like the Events that are added to this version of the game. Im new to the game though and I want to play the main game first to learn how to play.

Is there a way I can only install the added events and not the rest of Stainless Steel?

If not, are there any other mods that add historical events into the Vanilla game?

Rarther than learning to play on unmoded original, you might as well learn with SS. Just play on easy settings for a while. It does after all have more to offer....

Personaly Ive never played MTW2 or the Kingdoms expansion vanilla. Just came and tried the mods first. Guess I learned from years of civ that fan made stuff is always better

Plenty of mods in hosted modifications section. For me Stainless Steal with rr/rc sub mod is the best tho.

It would require the script to be overhauled, and the traits that are combined with it (at least, if you want the fairs, tourneys, etc). I could do that for you if you give me the script it should be in. If you want other events, those are probably tied to the descr_events.txt.

Hmm, maybe I should just go back to playing SS on easy mode.

Honestly another thing that frustrates me is how long it takes between turns due to all the factions. That seemed like the worst part of the mod to me, even though it was pretty great from what I saw.

I assume there isnt a way to speed that up?

JorisofHolland, I dont know how to find out where the needed scripts are so probably not worth spending time on it, thank though.

oofandango, I believe RR sub mode is real recruitment, but what is the RC submod?

RC = Real Combat

Finding the script isn't difficult, tell me if you want if for vanilla or a Kingdoms campaign and I'll give you a script you can move to it's place.

I have the Kingdoms version of the game but Im playing the main game not one of the expansion campaigns so I guess thats Vanilla. I did install the retro fit mod to add all the changes introduced in the kingdoms expansions into the vanilla game.

I think retrofit uses a different campaignscript. Can you upload it? (It's in Medieval II Total War\mods\Retrofit\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign)

The script works not the way I expected it to, you also need to upload the descr_character_traits.txt (\data) and historical_events.txt (\data\text). Here's the campaignscript, but it's useless as it refers to events that don't exist yet.
