    Default Rebel Generals

    Hey just a qq:

Do rebel generals ever become loyal again? Or do they just prance around shouting "You are NOT my king!" and such? Anyway to make them useful?

    Thanks!

Do you meen Generals originaly yours that have gone rebel, or the rebel Generals that occasionaly spawn with a few rebel units?

Either way I think only 3 things you can do.....send an assassin to deal with em, give them the chance to die in battle......or my favourate....just send a diplomat to bribe them.

As far as Im aware they just stay rebel

I think he means the generals that get mad during a Civil War. And I'm not sure about it, I'll check it for you.
Edit: Yes, they get back to normal once your king looses his trait.

I guess there is just some trait that is pissing them off? lol

Is there a certain way to get traits to be removed, or is that sort of a random thing; or dependent on what trait it is?

Thanks for the help guys. Bloody Holy Roman Empire and it's rebellious generals.

I never had a Civil war happening to me.
    How does it start?

Yes, I'd like to know too, this is in? Nice work

Perhaps when the king loses all loyalty?

I don't know the triggers (and I'm not looking them up either) but it has do to with things like Excommunication, shrinking Empire, etc. To remove the disloyalty it causes, open the console (`~). Then type: give_trait "Yourcharacter'sname" "Disobedient" 0 (you can replace Disobedient by Locked). So if your character is named Heinrich von Hohenstaufen, type give_trait "Heinrich von_Hohenstaufen" "Disobedient" 0

Yeah I find a few traits that make my generals rebel - Liar is one, and another is actually called "Civil War". My heir even rebelled against me! How is that even possible! lol

Thanks for the info Joris, +rep.

Civil wars happen with 6.2, right?

Civil War is caused by the Faction Leader having the trait "Offends the Nobillity", and will split your generals between loyalists, (+ to loyality) and rebels, with the "You're not my king!" trait. The only real way to decisively end the civil war, is having your Faction Leader killed.
I think you might also be able to fix it, by raising your Faction Leaders chivalry enough, but I'm not sure about that one.

A few heroic acts here and there might also help. I once joined a crusade and battled my way to Jerusalem, all the way from Antioch I had to take settlements in order to pass "peacefully"

Ie. your faction leader gained enough chivalry to stop offending the nobility? If so, do you remember how high his chivalry was?

No. He did not loose nor gain any, as I in equal mesuare excecuted, released, sacked and occupied. But he did gain a bit command (3-4) and a lot of morale (7)

But not for me . I could take a look at the triggers, but why don't you ask a modder?

Yes increasing your leader's chivalry can be enough to stop a civil war. I can't remember off the top of my head what level he needs though.

I got a civil war once where every single general supported my king, except for one 60 year old guy on the frontier. When he died, the king still had the "Offends the Nobility" trait, but everyone supported him

I think Emperor Heinrich just starts out with "Offends the Nobility" trait, that and historically the nobles all hated the Emperor regardless. lol

Well not all the nobles. Some of them had to vote on who became the emperor. So some nobles must've liked who was the emperor
