    Chapter 8



    Rome does the unusual thing and makes a ceasefire with Massalia. This helps as Massalia is at war with many peoples.

    Barbarians once more start a seige of Massalia. They are not strong however and are quickly destroyed by the garrison.

    In greece, Adeimanthos lays seige to Athens. He knows taking this will be a crippling blow. It has alot of access to the sea and brings in much money.

    The barbarians north of greece hear of Adeimanthos' advance and they break alliances with Macedon as quick as possible. In Spain Phileas is besieged at Saguntum. Phileas sallies out to crush them.

    The greeks have a strong formation of greeks and barbarians.

    The spanish have a numerous amount of deadly skirmishers that can join in combat if needed. They shower the Massalians with javelins.

    Phileas orders his phalanx to advance, closely followed by his barbarian troops.

    Phileas' cavalry makes a brave charge at the enemy.

    Fierce fighting follows. The fighting is bitter here as the celtic and spanish people have always been rivals.

    Soon the phalanx breaks through the spanish line and a rout starts.

    Phileas wins a second victory. News of this reaches home, as well as Adeimanthos. He doesn't like it.

    Phileas pursues the spanish until the city of New Carthage gives him trouble. He starts a seige.

    In Greece, the Macedonians are desperate to stop Adeimanthos and the king secretly send a bounty hunter after him. He is killed by Adeimanthos' bodyguards. Adeimanthos makes sure everyone in Greece hears the news. This disheartens the Macedonians.

    In Spain, Phileas takes New Carthage by assault and takes the city. Massalia hears of this as well. This makes Adeimanthos furious.

    Trying to gain back the attention, Adeimanthos takes Athens. It seems the population of Massalia is not amused.

    Angered that this new celebrity has taken his fame, Adeimanthos makes peace with macedon and prepares for civil war.

    Chapter 10



    Adeimanthos marches from Spain to confront Phileas. Both are superior commanders and even Adeimanthos knows it will be hard to win. The two sides first meet near Saguntum. After a small skirmish, Phileas is forced to withdraw to New Carthage.

    Adeimanthos pursues and Phileas can't rest his men. Eventually Adeimanthos' army is so close, a fight must happen.

    Adeimanthos is confident and will not be bested easily.

    Phileas and his army's morale is low and will have trouble in this fight.

    A major battle is about to begin and this time Adeimanthos will not Phileas escape.


    Adeimanthos takes the offensive and charges the enemy cavalry.

    Phileas' spanish auxillaries charge the phalanx. They cannot break through and are cut to pieces by Adeimanthos' veterans.

    Phileas' Celtic troops meet the same fate.

    Adeimanthos sees Phileas in the open and charges straight at them. Phileas' phalanx defends him and Adeimanthos' bodyguard must withdraw.

    The fighting soon gets bitter as the phalanxes close in on each other and cause many deaths on each side.

    Adeimanthos orders his Numidian cavalry to support his right. His Greco-Celts fight hard, but they can't perform miracles.

    On Adeimanthos' left his Thorakitai are being surrounded.

    Adeimanthos' phalanx catches Phileas' light cavalry off guard and routs it.

    It's anyone's win until Adeimanthos' Numidians find Phileas unprotected and attack it.

    Phileas fights desperately, but the Numidians having fought many battles, destroy his guard.

    Phileas is knocked from his horse and is killed. Phileas' men waver, but they fight to the death.

    Adeimanthos orders the rest of his men to kill the last of Phileas' men.

    This win means the war is won by Adeimanthos. He is the sole ruler and dictator of Massalia. He leaves the enemy soldiers and Phileas on the field to die and executes anyone that supported Phileas. He seems unstoppable.

    End of Chapter 10


    The end of this AAR is near and I have decided on two different endings. They will be labeled A or B and I won't tell you what they are. I will write what the readers decide.

    I don't mind. just the most funny and epic version, wichever that is.
    you're doing well, but your regions are a bit spread out over the mediterean. I would suggest to conquer a entire region (greece, for example, now that you have sparta)

    You would be voting for A then.

    Well I do have Sparta, Patras, Corinth, and Athens. So at least I have southern greece. I reconquered Emporion after Spain bribed it. Now have the coast of spain. I guess it is a little spread out though.

    Chapter 11 part1


    This is not the end just another update.



    Adeimanthos left Deukalios in charge of greece. The Macedonians thought somethning happened to Adeimanthos and made an offensive. Deukalios prepared to defend.

    Deukalios has no cavalry, but the Macedonians have plenty of skirmisher cavalry.

    Deukalios' slingers fire at the enemy then retreat behind the line.

    Both sides attempt to fire point blank. Deukalios knows he should have retrained those men.

    The Macedonian phalangites attack Deukalios' troops. They however exposed their flanks.

    Meanwhile, a man from Massalia named Epikuros, even though knowing Adeimanthos killed the last person who challenged him, lands in spain and prepares to fight the natives.

    Epikuros inherits a veteran army from the survivers of the war.

    He is attacked by the spanish and prepares for his first battle.

    Adeimanthos takes Thebes, and by doing so, liberates all of southern Greece.

    Excellent AAR. The screenshots are very nice considering you do not use Pause to capture moments and the writing sounds like some battle-hardened veteran, keeping it short and sweet.

    Chapter 11 part2 (The End) A ending



    Epikuros has taken the capitol of the Iberian tribes and much resistance has been destroyed. Adeimanthos. With southern Greece liberated, Adeimanthos once more makes peace with Macedon and marches to spain. He expects Epikuros surrender. Epikuros replies saying, "thou ask me to surrender because thee are afraid?" Infuriated, Adeimanthos prepares for battle and sees Epikuros already formed up. The battle is about to begin.

    Adeimanthos has been killed and the same with his cause. Massalia opens gates to Epikuros and declare him king. Massalia is finally free of the tyrant Adeimanthos.


    And thus ends my first AAR.
