Not getting any audio/music while playing

Okay so I have had this problem for quite a while now but its only been recently that I wanted to start playing M2TW again so I would like to get it fixed since it really ruins the game for me

The menu music doesn't play when I start the game but I can still hear the thunder in the background
There isn't any music in the campaign map or battle map either and when I click on an army or agent on the campaign map they don't say anything,same for units on the battle map.As far as I know the rest of the audio works fine.

This first happened was when I reinstalled Third age total war,for a while I thought it was just the mod but than I realised it was happening in Vanilla m2tw and kingdoms.Even after reinstalling the entire game and all its patches more than once it hasn't helped.

I checked the third age total war forum for help on this but to no avail and I also searched this forum but nothing I found worked for me.I'm pretty sure it was installing third age that caused the problem but I cant figure out how

p.s The game is uninstalled atm incase one of your solutions was the reinstall the game

Right now reinstall Medieval2 and Kingdoms and Kingdoms patch. That much won't change anything.

Before installing any mods, try it. If you don't have any sound for the game, in the options/audio sections are four or five different settings both Miles and Creative Labs. Try them all.

If that doesn't work, what kind of sound card/chip do you have?

I just reinstalled m2tw+kingdoms+patches and it isn't working.No surprise
The only audio option I was able to use was Miles,I was using that option when it did work .When I tried using creative it said I didn't have the hardware.

As for the sound card I'm not sure which one I have and I don't trust myself to open up the comp to check either

I have the same chip.

In the options/audio page, is mute checked? I found mine that way when I uploaded a mod a few years ago.

The mute option isn't checked,I am getting other sounds though i.e thunder in background and in Kingdoms the menu music works fine but than when I started a battle the only sounds I get are things like troops marching,arrows flying etc.The guy who says things like the enemy's forces are half destroyed doesn't even seem to be working :S

What factions? Not all factions have all the voices including Mongols and Timmurids for two.

I just tried one faction since I installed the game and that was as Venice in the crusades campaign
When I had it installed before I had tried with other factions too like Britain,France and Milan

I don't know which ones you think you should hear. The only voice sounds in the sounds_prebattle fiel for Venice would be Mediterranean and there are some holes in it. In fact, the prebattle speeches are all oneliners. I think it's the campaign.

In the options\sounds window there are four sliders for various sound effects.
Are they all moved to the right?

Else it will most likely be as irishron says: gap in sounds for that faction.

Yep I have checked all of the sound options,all the sliders are moved to the right,mute is unchecked etc
Still if it was just that faction that was the problem it still doesn't explain why agents and armies don't say anything when I click on them or why there isn't any music in the campaign and battle map
Is it possible that my game may be missing some audio files?

You go to the Mod Workshop, in the sounds and other goodies forum, you can leearn how to add the sounds. It is the game missing the sounds for that faction in that Kingdoms campaign.

I was just using that as an example.it's not just that one faction in kingdoms,it's every faction in kingdoms,vanilla,stainless steel and third age total war.there has to be another solution other than manually adding audio to every faction
