90% of an iceberg is submerged; there is 10% visible. An admin can be completely invisible but still be there. The purpose of admin is to administer site policy and services. If they do not appear, they are doing neither.
It is the new normal. When I join, it was different. Inactive admins, just gracefully resigned.
Let's just call a spade a spade. it is what it is. No need to sugar coat it. If you can't be bothered to be active on the site that you are an administrator, then why be an administrator?

It is not becoming to bear false witness. I never been "vonc'ed" for absence. However, I was removed for inactivity as a Librarian (a divorce will definitely take up your free time) and I was removed from the Modding awards committee for"failing to respond" to a message (excuses are for fools, but I was in the middle of grading over 150 exams at the time). In nearly 10 years of being this site, I rarely spent more than 3 months away... generally a few weeks here and there due to work and personal business. In the case of the Liberian position, the action was justified; I was indeed inactive and despite stating the crisis has passed, I was still not allowed back. I later joined vault Staff with no issues of absenteeism.

If you so direly want to make unfounded accusations of inactivty against Hex, could you at least be consistent with what you claim within one post?
First you say that at least 10% of admin work is visible to you (first sentence),
then you claim that all of it may be invisible to you (second sentence),
finally you come up with an arbitrary definition of what admins do and claim that all of it is publicly visible (third sentence).

An observation is not an accusation. It has been this way for a long time. It is what it is. You failed to understand the analogy. The point of the analogy that no matter what is done behind the scenes, something should be visible. So, if you claimed that there are no inactive admin and that they do things behind the scene, then what is visible by them? They do not log onto the site and they do not make any public action. Again this is not an accusation, but an observation. Like in the movie, Eight men out, "it is your ball club" (Comisky). In this case, It is your ball club GED. I mean, hey, I have drunk the kool-aid, but I have never been a "yes man." As I said, inactive admin is nothing new. I wish Hader all the best in the next phase of his life. He was gracious enough to take me on as a Librarian so many years ago. I am forever grateful for the opportunity! When I wrote stuff like this, it is never a cursory platitude. As you can tell by my other honest commentaries and observations.
