Horse Grenadiers?

Hello. I was wondering the other day, "Horse Grenadiers?"

Horse grenadiers would be too awesome. However, the grenadiers had to dismount to throw their grenades accourding to Wikipedia. They also had a musket for foot combat.

Horse Grenadiers were attached to a Calvalry regiment just like Grenadiers would be to a line infantry. In each Horse Guards regiment, there would be a company of grenadiers.

These soldiers could ride across the battlefield, dismount, throw grenades and a volley, and ride away, similar to regular dragoons.

Horse Grenadiers were used in Royal Army from 1680- upwards to about 1800. I believe I read Louis and I might believe Napoleon had a small contingent of horse grenadiers.
EDIT: I have found records of horse grenadiers up to 1808, still looking.

Some mods have included horse grenadiers for E:TW, but would like to see this be mainstream in N:TW.

During the Napoleonic wars, grenadiers didn't carry grenades.

They'll probably lob them from horseback at full gallop after people complained they were underpowered -- something like a cross between the Green Goblin and a Mongol horse-archer

Haha they'll add the cantabrian circle so the horse grenadiers will keep up continuous nade throwing while running round in circles of horseback getting caught on fences which will result in CTDs everytime.

Trouble is it can cause glitches, for instance if you accidently fire the nades while on horses it causes a crash, due to buggered up anims.

But if they find a way to stop that why not?

Grenadiers did not use grenades during the Napoleonic era. The title was used for elite units --the pick of each battalion. Horse Grenadiers where the most elite heavy cav in Napoleons Imperial guard.

Well, if you can have native american artillery then why not grenades during Napoleon?

Native american 24lbers but no Grenades, wow.

And while there at it why not add a 60ft disco dancing Stalin with laser eyes...

Well thats easy - just remove the "throw grenades" ability in unit_stats_land

Yeah, the Grenadiers were the tallest, stongest men. They even kept the mitre hat (which was originally used as a throwing advantage) after the grenades were gone to add to this 'scary factor'.

I've always loved these guys. Creme de la creme.

Grenadiers a Cheval are a necessity

i hope they dont throw grenades... i like to imagine if i joined a unit back then i would have been a grenadier, im 6"4 and i spent 4 months digging holes for power line poles so i got some pipes... just a fleeting fancy

Yep, sounds like it. I'd rather be one of those artillery guys anyways. Better deaf than dead! I do pray though that CA does not give them grenades, then again thats what a modders magic is for.
