    Default Conquering the whole map

Has anyone been able to do this in the current version of SS 6.2 ? I'm somewhat half-way there with 93 regions conquered of the possible 200 regions in my current Genoa campaign.
But I'm feeling a little bored, and frankly I'm not too interested in going any further at the moment, even though the End Turn limit is relatively fast now in less than one minute because there are only 10 factions left.

So, has anyone actually conquered the whole map?

    Since you asked...

No... The most I've gotten was around 100 and then I get too bored. I start doing suicide runs with ridiculously stupid armies just to see if the comp can actually fight back. And by that time, most can't. I have a tough time even getting to 70 anymore. Once I hit about 40-50 I'm bored and start a new campaign.

I played over 220 turns as Byzantium. I conquered whole eastern mediterranean trying to recreate Roman Empire. I had never been so excited. My armies were at Spain but then all my 6 saves got corrupted or something and don't work anymore. So I lost the campaign.

This is the largest area I have conquered in a single campaign so far, although it is SS 6.1:

As you can see I played as Byzantines and I almost managed to capture all territories which were part of the old Roman Empire. Unfortunately save game stopped working and I couldn't continue my campaign.

I never completed a long campaign. I just get too powerfull before I´m there.

Another question........... Do the Timurids show up on Early Era Campaign? Or am I just waiting for no reason?

I generally abandon a campaign once it starts to resemble Clausewitz's dictum "Proper Application of overwhelming force" There is nothing more tedious than the constant shuffling of armies from one side of your vast empire to the other.
In the end I'm like a dog who keeps forgetting where he buries his bones, with full stack armies all over the shop!

I never get that far. Just to boring.
@ n0z: No, unless you play RR/RC there are no Timurids.

How about late era campaign? Do the Timurids show up? and while we're talking about it...... Is RR/RC Compilation possible to be installed on top of SS 6.2? Or am I going to have to install on 6.1? And how "buggy" is it?

I installed RR/RC over top of 6.2, and just let it overwrite what it needed to, and I have had no problems at all. I really recommend RR/RC too. Usually I too get bored of my campaigns once I have a sizable empire, but for some reason with RR/RC I just want to keep going.

edit: As for bugs, I have had none whatsoever besides one obscure one. There is an issue with corrupt save games that affects some people (it affected me) but it is easily solved, if it affects you, by doing some simple editing in the campaign_script file.

I had horrible CTD's and computer freezes with your application, which I ended up doing because
    I had 6.2+RC, I'm reinstalling tomorrow.

    Enomine,
Please could you be so kind to post this adjustment to the script, there are many of us with corrupt 6.2 RR/RC campaigns?

Once it's clear that you're the most unstoppable force in europe, the game gets rather boring, we play games for challenges, not for the tedious marching of unbeatable armies.

Once you become so big, only fight with peasant armies?

But I, too, have trouble with total domination. There isn't that much fun and the battles are too repetitive for that. The biggest I ever got is maybe 30-40 regions. Gained an interest in Genoa though.

Even thought Med II is great, it just never seems to live up to our expectations. We just keep trying in vain that it does...

I remember back to the medieval 1 days, where youd conquer western europe and think your all that, then the RUSSIANS WOULD INVADE and EVERYTHING would just go down the tubes.

    Good times.
