Default Model change we might want to consider

Models in RTW can have animated bows strings and other such fancy stuff.

If you haven't seen this thread it should be looked at. The good news is that RS2 will be even more awesome if we make the changes.

great, wles did an awesome job on that...it's wonderful to look at those archers, suddenly feels alot more realistic.
I say : put it in the mod!

TBH, there's no chance it'll be in the mod unless another modeller comes along and is able to do it. I'm pretty weary and can't even think about implementing it.

The other option is to see if we can use wlesmana's skeleton and animations for the animated bow string.

It doesn't matter, it's just a little extra after all.

Maybe we could ask him to join the team.

He's probably way to busy. He can barely work on his own mod.

But then again, who could refuse an offer from the RS2.0 team

If we could get ahold of the animation that would be nice, but to make all the necessary model changes (or if that's what would be necessary)...just too much to ask of Tone.

Probably wouldn't need to be model changes, just a change to the skeletons that the models use + the new animation for the bow strings and arrows. Depending on how many different skeletons our archers use as to how extensive the change would be. This of course would require significant text editing in DMB to change all the relevant skeleton lines.

EDIT: nvm all archer models (however many that is) might need to be udpated.

I know PatricianS was playing around with archer models for RTR.

I think a lot of people have moved on from RTW or are simply busy with other mods or just want a break.

What about the rest of the RTR team? Could they help us out as well?

There has been a presence here for a while. HouseOffHam has been giving advice on scripting (and SVN), Tony83 and PatricianS have been around for a while as well. PatricianS did the launcher for RSII.

A while back one of the historians HannibalBarca was around as well.

The RTR team are busy with RTR VII FoE and 'what comes next'.

There has been a fair bit of co-operation between the two teams. I know Tone and dvk901 are posting in a thread in the RTR Dev Forum that deals with co-operation between the teams.

Yeah poor old Tone still has a few skinning left on the Spartans helms.
Let's finish what we have, and maybe later think on it?
