Thera was a world much like the one we know. That was until one fateful day 222 years ago, a day when great natural calamities were unleashed on the world known as Thera.
What exactly happened to cause these calamities is not clear, each culture describes the causes and the effects within their own cultural and belief framework.
What is clear is that the planet suffered earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, an almost worldwide tidal wave, all in the space of one day. Huge wild fires ripped across many lands and there were reports of fiery objects seen in the skies. This day became known universally as the 'Great Torment'.
In the years following the normal tidal and seasonal patterns became erratic. Many regions suffered great storms that lasted weeks, months and in some areas years. The effects were so great that most people believed that this was truly the end of time. Almost every culture reset their calenders to mark these world changing disasters.\n\n This lasted for over a century and the population of Thera was decimated. Many formerly great nations fell, as starvation and disease ravaged the lands. Some nations locked their borders in an attempt to safeguard what they had, some nations looked to their gods for salvation, others turned to science.
It is now 222 years since the day of the 'Great Torment'. Many cultures believe this to be an auspicious date for a myriad different reasons, the reoccuring nature of the date, the alignment of the stars, the return of the herds, or simply because they feel strong again. The Legacy of the Great Torment is a world inhabitied by many small nations which have been been forced to develop in near isolation, a world of large desolate, depopulated lands, which are ripe for development by a wise and powerful leader. Are you such a leader.......
This mod allows the player to pit nations of differnet era's against one another. From armies of Legionaries to rifle quiped line infantry, all present on one planet at the same time.
Changes from Version 2
Completely new UI, including banners, faction symbols, battle and Strat UI

Map modification, adding more forests and regional choke points
Reduction of free upkeep in forts from 5 to 3
Admiral movement points cut by 50% to reduce naval lag/AI turn length
Additional traits and ancs

New Quotes (many provided by Toluas)
Faction start events, detailing the history of the faction (with contributions from Borissomeone)
Many new units, models and skins, almost every faction has gained at least one extra unit
Valhalla and Hispanics now more 'dark age' in appearance
Faust now more advanced.
Fixed Ghost generals
Fixed islamic-aztec cities
New and updated Zors
And much much more.........
Know issues that will be corrected before 'full' release of version 3 (No CTD issues mod is completely stable and self contained)
Missing garrison in Atha Edin region
Some factions do not yet have game start events
Some factions national treasures are not yet completed
Heir anc coding is still experimental
Some spell checking still to be done
Rory the rebel standing in the sea
Players who also have SS installed may have an issue where the Aztec strat map generals appear messed up, this is caused by SS altering files within your vanilla game.
This patch will not effect your SS game, but rather copies the orginal vanilla files into your Thera folder.
The mod is set to run in a windowed mode ( I forgot to change it before uploading). If you are unsure how to change this simply
Find the TheraV3.cfg in the TheraV3 folder and change the properties so it is not read only.
then open the TheraV3.cfg file and search for
windowed = true
change it to
##windowed = true
and save.

Great work O'Neill . Everything has changed for the better or is expanded.
When observing the beautiful new landscape I did see a guy that is a little bit lost.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I think this little guy belongs at Porth Maddog, due to his looks, accent and (beautiful) flag.
Edit: Damn I have to spread my rep more

Nice, thought you had given up on this, a brilliant xmas gift for sure.
Its a delaying tactic, this way you can all have a play with it and leave us alone, whilst we add the final layer of icing to the full version 3 you will see early in the new year
I would like to publicly thank the team for the amazing work they have done,
Aduelist , Tzar and Eothese have added more depth to the mod, than I ever dreamt would be possible when I first started working on V1 all that time ago
