Ok, so a few days ago I finely finished reading this Epic story and I htought it was fantastic. Every single character, both minor and major was beautifilly fleshed out, one of my favourite characters was an artillary officer who only got a few chapters to himself before never being mentioned again (Tushin!), for example!

So, I'm wondering what everyone else thinks of this classic? Did you like it? Hate it? Finish it (cant judge if you diddn't, big story)? Who was you're favourite character (Denisov and Pierre ftw) and who did you hate the most (Dolokhov, just a nasty fellow, amd Anatole Kuragin)?

    I read Anthony Briggs translation.

Sounds like a Gundam anime.... they normally have good major characters and excellent minor characters sometimes minor being better than major. Maybe Tomino was a fan of that book. Big anti war fantatic he is, hense he created a TV show with no really true villian factions, and excellent characters on two sides of a war.

Well I wouldn't saay that about War and Peice, as 99% of the characters are all Russian (or German/Nationalities sided with Russia) and the las 1% is Napoleon and the generals (plus the odd French soldier here and there), and they dont get much for themselves.
