    Default Vista: Disable Green Arrows?

    I can't get DLV to follow my changes in the CFG file! It just ignores my changes no matter what I change them to. It's not even following them for vanilla. Obviously, this is a Vista issue. Anyone gotten to the bottom of it?

    Hello friend.

    I have no problems with that.
    I make the changes here:

    C:\Users\Filipe\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.preference.cfg

    Code:
    [game]

    ...

    disable_arrow_markers = 1
    I hope I have helped you.

    Hmm perhaps this is because it was installed before disabling UAC.

    I think Vista users are meant to install m2tw in xp compatibity mode, with UAC disabled, and not in the program files folder.

    BTW for when you get it working, you might want to check out:

    [game]
    ...
    label_characters = 1

    It can make the strat map seem a little cluttered at times but it's very useful.

    OMG! I can't believe I'm going to have to install again to get it working the way I want

    Explore the DVD and right click the setup.exe to get to the properties, to install in compatibility mode.

    Remember to avoid the program files folder, apparently it get's all parental about you playing with stuff in there. Just make a folder like c:\m2tw or whatever.

    I feel for you brother, any more probs - let me know
