To be honest I couldn't help but laugh a little bit, what with my prior experience with pre-ordering a product of theirs. I will certainly not be pre-ordering this time. =/

However this just sparked a little question from me, without bashing or praising CA or the Total War series at all, are you going to pre-order Napoleon?

Are you kidding me? No.

Nah, this time I will wait and see what comes, if it needs patching, etc.. and based on that I will make my decision.

I don't know for NTW but I have ordered the Napoléon Edition for Histwar today.

Hmm, Histwar? Was that a game Battlefront was to publish? I remember - I went searching for it one day when looking for a new game, but it had vanished from Battlefront's website.

After several years of development, it is time to fully unveil HistWar: Les Grognards. It is not without emotion that we move on to the first step of the final phase: the beginning of pre-sale!

The title of “Grenadier HistWar” will be assigned to those who will buy the game during the pre sale period (you have to be a registered user on our dedicated forum to get the title). This title will give you access to a restricted forum.

The duration of this phase is without doubt limited, since we plan to make “HistWar: Les Grognards” available around Christmas.

The boxed versions (the collector edition “Napoleon” and the “Grognard” edition) will be delivered in January 2010.
However, the 3 versions (1 online + 2 boxes) will be downloadable at the date of release of the Game; an email will be sent specifying a serial number.

come on man no game is worth $100 , espically because of ca's last release, there saying pretty much the same things about napoleon as they did empire. "greatest toal war game ever" bla bla bla

wait till they have patched it, what peole say and get it cheap (got MW2 from ebay $60 au, brand new of course)

i really hate steam, before you can even play it i have to log in, and have to have the latest patch, it really makes me angry with the new dlc system as well. after you pay so much money for a game cant they just give us some extra units.

despite what mike simpson and ca say "yer empire wasnt that good we kinda srewed the ai a bit and stuff", "but make sure you pre order napoleon"

they seem to put more effort into making these exclusive dlc packs than trying to fix empire
we can mod in our own dam units

its a shame total war is more about money than quality these days

yer i probably will get napoleon just for the hell of it but dirt cheap and after they patch it

but i wont be pre ordering the "imperial addition" -complete with poster and elite fags of france "exclusive" units dlc

and i doubt napolen controlled by ca's broken bai will be a challenge at all

napoleon and empire will be like windows 7 and vista

many people here take "les grognards" for NTW......

Well normal edition of ETW was $100 here, the collectors edition was $140, but NTW has it's collectors edition (emperor's edition) at only $100 seems pretty good, so I'm pe-ordering the Emperor's edition.

No Way! Will I pre-order any game, from any company, Got caught once, and it was not a CA TW game. Lesson learned. Also what is the big rush, its not as if they will run out of supplies.

I have never pre-ordered ever. I mean why? For a start, what`s the rush? If you think you must have it first, well why? No one cares if you get it first. Really they don`t. No one cares that you post up first about it on a forum. You think you might die before you get it? Again, so what? You`ll miss something eventually when you die. If you pre-order and something goes wrong you lose out. i`ve even seen people preorder and NOT get any special bonuses or the product still hasn`t arrived while everyone else is busy playing it. Patience really is a virtue here.
