Ok so ive had probably the most entertaining battle ever. In real life this would have been super strategic, but honestly it was just a fun massacre.
heres what happened about a 3/4 stack of my Rus forces got attacked by the Hungarians on a bridge, now they had a full stack of much better units, some knights good infantry such as men at arms, mostly heavy inf spears and heavy cav. I had some Chude millitias(javelin men, spear militias, 2 Bulgarian brigands, 1 archer militia, 1 cross bow unit, 2 trebuchet units, 1 HA unit, and general.
So on my side there were a nice 2 hills on either side of the bridge so i put my 4 archer units on the hills which really made a beyond perfect angle of fire for shooting at the bridge. And my trebuchets right behind them. Put all my infantry into 2 thick lines at the bridge bottleneck, and my cav right behind the inf.
Well the Ai as usual just charged all their guys through (not that thers much else to do when attaking in bridge battle). But mu trebuchets had such a nice angle that many of the shots landed right on the bridge, it was frightening so many men bunched up with threbuchet hit after trebuchet hit just melting them. Then i i turned on fire arrow on my archers, and it was just the coolest thing i have seen in M2, it was absolute inferno trebuchet fireballs, fire rain coming down on a mass of strong infantry and cav charging forward. So the Hungarians finally make it past the hellish bridge run and reach my lines as my javelin men fire they are greeted with a facefull of spears, and the few men remaining engaged my extremely cool looking (rusichi units) berdiche axmen and flee soon there after. Although a short melee did ensue as they had good high moralle units, as my archers continued to rain effective fire right at the bottlenecked Hungarians.
Sadly i forgot to take screens, but i don't have any accounts on image hosting sites anyway. So ya just though id share, because this could very well be my favorite battle even though i mostly had low quality units.
Cheers.
