    Icon10 Provincial Campaign Senarios

I'm not all that sure how to do this. How do I make it that only certain units can be recruited in a provincial campaign, differing from the imperial one.Lt me out this more clearly in simple term. Im working with RTW BI

In a IMPERIAL CAMPAIGN a faction can recruit a spearman and swordsman.

But in a PROVINCIAL CAMPAIGN, I want the same faction to only be able to hire the spearman. Maybe just setting settlements to hire certain units. I would also like to change a factions religeon BTW just for the campaign. That was just an example. Can someone show me how to do this? If you can help me figure out this small problem then Ill be set for the whole plan.

I'm not sure about religions in RTW unless your going to be using BI. But as for the unit recruitment thing. The only files you can change for a provincial campaign without creating a mod folder are world files. So, look into perhaps using hidden resources to limit recruitment.

In export_descr_buildings, add the name of your hidden resource at the top of the file. You'll see where it belongs

Then, go to the building where you want the unit to be recruited from, and after the unit, type this :

    and hidden_resource <resource>
then, go to descr_regions.txt (in the base folder), and add the hidden resource to the list of resources

Would give examples, but am writing on the wrong pc atm

I think you'll have to use the 'and not hidden_resource' tag to make it work. Because, the vanilla one wont have the hidden resource at all so, all the units will be available. Then in the provincial campaign. Just add the hidden_resource to all the regions and the which ever you unit you don't want the faction to recruit just add the 'and not hidden_resource' tag to it.

So, create the hidden resource as told in this tutorial: http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=43747

Then, in EDB find the swordsman entries you don't want the faction to recruit and add 'and not hidden_resource (resource name)'

    ie:

    Code:
recruit "swordsman" 0 requires factions { roman, } and not hidden_resource (resource name)

As I said, this will allow the vanilla Imperial Campaign to run normally, but will effect the Provincial Campaign with its new descr_regions which has the hidden resource you create added to all the settlements in the game.

Hope it makes sense, good luck.
