Default What's the deal with those special soldiers?

When I play a battle, I notice a single guy with a sword and a banner in my units with this mod. He wears my kingdom's tabard and plate mail. I notice he's pretty tough and is usually the last in a unit to die. Does he effect a unit's moral if he dies, since he's carrying a banner? What are his stats like? I'm sure their both offensively and defesively much higher than the rest of the unit. It's funny seeing him mow down 10 or so town militia by himself

Also, did the DLV team add this feature special to DLV? Or was it borrowed from another mod? Thanks.

I am 100% sure it is an officer (they are declared somewhere in the EDU, sometimes you get 1 or 2 or 3 depends on the unit), but what stats they have i get no idea. Maybe some more experienced guy like Taiji could give you the details.

And welcome to you for your 1st post !

Cedric mon ami ~_- is quite right - It's an officer (or can be any other unit).

If my memory serves me right - It has no effect.

Jerago, I figuer you are playing an Italian faction, maybe your favorite, Lombardy? These captains (the flag infantry man) are an independent unit. If you can use basic Notepad, then you can pick any infantry solider as a captain for any infantry unit. Or any cavalry unit as captain for a cavalry unit.

I belive it's given to DLV, as every thing else is. I belive the flags themself are modded thou.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.
