Available in box form from Amazon and Gamestop, it looks like. Nothing about special pre-order units, so that's too bad

"Imperial Edition" is called "Limited Edition" for US, and is 39.95 on Amazon. Release date is February 23, according to Amazon.

Surprised there isn't a regular edition up for preorder.
Let me persuade you with my powerful logic skills.

$39.95? Jeez, I pre-ordered Empire last year off Amazon for $37. Oh well I guess this game is bigger.

Took the liberty of looking on the U.S Amazon site, found this...

    "Product Features

    • Completely separate from Empire: Total War, Napoleon immerses players in a concentrated, gripping wartime experience with exciting battles, memorable characters and Total War¿s award winning signature mix
    • Players can alter the course of history in objective-based missions across Europe. How they manage their troops across both land and sea can change the outcome of the war
    • For the first time, two players battle head-to-head online utilizing three new main campaign maps. A new avatar system, achievements, gameplay bonuses, uniform customization and voice communications enhance the multiplayer experience
    • 15 exclusive in-game units with Napoleon Total War-The ¿Elite Regiment¿ is a collection of five of the most Elite Forces of the Napoleonic Wars, from all the major European factions.
    • The ¿Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars¿ is a 10 unit pack that gathers the most superb infantry and cavalrymen who fought during the great Napoleonic battles. Includes line infantry and calvary units from Prussia, Austria, France, Russia and Great Britain"

What the name of God is this, please? Is it clear to anyone what is actually contained in this game "edition?"

    There are two versions.

Limited Edition = Imperial Edition. They just decided to change the name for some strange reason.

If you buy Limited Edition from stores, there is no pre-order unit. If you buy Imperial Edition (same thing) on Steam, you get Royal Scots Greys.

Regular Edition so far in US it is only available on Steam, and comes with only one unit pack (not two) as well as Royal Scots Greys.

In all honesty, there's no point in getting the Imperial Edition on Steam. It's $49.99 compared to $39.99 at Gamestop and $39.95 at Amazon. Do you really want to pay $10 for a pre-order unit?

You mean you get Medieval II for $10, right? Since the price difference between Steam and Amazon/Gamestop is $10...
