    Default rome crashes

hello the rs1.6 is superb mod, but at one moment it crashes. i play a campaign for 1 week and then it crashes when i click the end turn. when it starts to change the faction icons above, my icon (the roman) is ready, then before it change to the macedon it crahes. i thought that my save was corrupted, and i loaded save, that was maybe 20-30 turns before the crash. then it end turns properly, but after 20-30turns crashes i'm using windows 7, i tried under xp, the same. my rome is 1.6v barbarian invasion. i noticed that when it crashes is somewhere about 557-8 ab urbe condita. also every 2-3 times when i try to play the battle on the battlemap it crashes also (and smoetimes when the battle is over and i click to return to the campaign map) there is some info from the crash.

no, i turned it back on, because it's annoying to save every 2-3 turns (because crahes when i play the battle on the battlemap). but form now on i will disable it. i use different save. i'm thinking if some action causes this army, settlement....

The fact that you can go back to an earlier save and it fixes it suggests that your saves are getting corrupted somehow. You don't use 'quick-save' do you? And 'auto-save is set to 'FALSE'?

Can you upload a save game? Is the crash occuring on the same factions turn every time? If so which faction?

I'm also going to move this thread to the technical help subforum.

How many turns from the save game until the crash? What exactly are you doing when it crashes? I ended the turn and aside from one battle which I autoresolved there was nothing which could cause the crash. That battle for the macedonian settlement would cause a reinforcement CTD if fought when the macedonian reinforcements attack you and you wipe out the settlements defenders. Is it after this battle (when selecting occupy, enslave, rellocate) that the CTD occurs?

next turn crashes, here is another save, simply click end turn and after the roman icon (there are 2-3 generals, which make move) just before it switches to macedon icon it crashes. http://www.megafileupload.com/en/fil...crash-sav.html

I'm leaning towards a corrupt save game right now. The save is repeatable if I make no changes it crashes when attempting to move an army near Tarraco, but if I move the armies there (to try and avoid the crash) it crashes at a different point, this means it isn't one specific thing that is the problem but rather the save file. Make sure auto-save is disabled in your preferences and go back a few saves in time to see if you can get an uncorrupted save.
