Who will win? I urge all of you (Brits only) to join in the struggle if you haven't already, and prevent X Factor from being the Christmas Number 1 by buying the RATM song Killing in the Name Of.

The latter is currently ahead of Joe McWhat'shisname in iTunes, but you can buy it on Amazon for cheaper and it will still count. Please do so, everyone who votes is voting for good music against Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell. Do not let them achieve their plan of world domination, monopolising the world of music and making us listen to their repetitive commercialised drivel for all eternity.

A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

If I had any money left I'd buy it. I'm not a fan of RATM, but compared to anything from the X-Factor it's godly. None of the singers sound original at all.

X factor will win but I hope RATM will but they will get pretty high in the charts, it'll be funny if they go on the TOTP's Christmas special.

Ah the X factor, undoubtedly the most overrated piece of to be showed on Television, although it has severe competition from Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity and indeed an other reality BULL!

    Anything to slander such programs!

I had never heard of Rage against the machine until this, but i don't listen to metal much. I prefer metal to pop any day though.

BTW, does anyone know when the Christmas no.1 is chosen? Should i buy it now or on Monday to make it the Xmas no.1?

A statement from NME today said that McElderry was winning by 11,000 copies. Obviously not including today so hopefully it will be back ahead. I should mention that today is the last day of sales that are included in calculating the xmas number one.

Though Morello also (I'm told) said if RATM win they'll throw a free victory concert. Perhaps that spiked sales.

Here's hoping RATM got the top spot.

I want to know who the hell buys this X-Factor crap? Why do they keep buying like sheep? Are there ears tone deaf or something?

The masses of people that watch the x-factor go buy it, Freddie. Why they do it I don't know, seems to be the final act in the X-Factor travesty.

Did you read that McElderry said Killing in the Name of was "dreadful" and "they wouldn't even make it to boot camp" on the x-factor? Up until now I had nothing particularly against the boy, now I hate him for being so....so ing STUPID.

I can't take what he has to say seriously nor any of Simon Cowell's other cohorts like the rather beautiful Cheryl Cole so I just tend to ignore it. It's not his fault his simply told what to say, when to it at and who to say it to, the perfect public relation mouth piece.

    Can I just ask,

    WHO THE IS SIMON COWELL?

I know he is on the XFactor but that's like saying anyone on Big Brother is a Celebrity (Long be Dead Jade Goody). I mean what makes him so... what is the word? Recognised? Famous is too strong a word. I mean what has he done to make him so well known? Shout a bit as he criticises "singers" (-notice the "quotation marks").

I would personally prefer to watch my dog do her business in the garden instead of the XFactor or any other piece of reality cr**.

I don't think you realise just how popular these shows are in the UK. Its like a religion.

America has similar shows that run, "American Idol" being one of them I'm sure. Whilst I don't know just how popular they are over there, the US TV audience is just as bad for TV worship as the UK TV audience!

Simon Cowel runs a very wealthy record label (I don't know which) that deals with pop singers. The X-Factor is basically giving him publicity by making a show that has singers compete to be signed by his label. At the end of it all the fans go buy the single the winning singer produces under Simon's label.

He became recognised because of the X-Factor really, though I believe he also does judging on Britain's Got Talent and some American programs of a similar nature.
