    Icon2 Unique Factions

    I start this topic in the attempt to collect for the mod team, many useful informations and ideas for every faction from the game...for making them unique...every one in one clear and specific direction.

    I put there my first suggestion that can be found also in "Preview of Harad"...but also can be analyzed/evolved here...this idea...and many others...for every faction...hopefully...

    For some reasons Harad has started to attract me irresistible.

    In this faction is like we look in the book of all human history or even before the man existence.

    In the battle,in the next patch we can(probably) see dinosaurs(mumakill),Neanderthal man(troll man),and modern homo sapiens(disciplined fighting units),gathered together and fighting side by side for survival or the glory of the nation.

    I think this angle of view for Harad,can make this faction a truly unique and wonderful faction in this fantasy world(mod) named Third Age

    Many factions are actually already quite unique foe example dwarves which have a totally new fighting-style.

    Give the SE an armor piercing axe unit only recruitable in the forest.
    Something like that?

    What about the druids (beorglings... or something), which can be transformed into bears. If I recall they are very tough and do the job.

    Why can't they be recruitable by Silvan elves? They already exist in the unit pool.

    It's only a 1min job.

    -Gondor when 1.4 is released

    Though you can never say that they are unique enough, but I'd say these are the most uniques.

    Actually they can - as mercaneries in the vale of Anduin.

    No...

    This not make a faction totally unique.

    Read the idea from the firs post and understand the purpose of this topic.

    Reading the first post you say that Harad became unique by adding new units. Why don't Silvans become if you they get another one?

    Actually, at least in RC/RR, Beornings could be recruited by the Sylvan Elves.

    What i want to explain for all in first post...is to suggest to every person....to think...with his unique point of view...and tell us...about how everyone see one specific faction...in attempt to find someting original...or to combine some ideas...to create an original story/feeling/concept....or to suggest little modifications for changing something,but as a part from the entire ''picture'' named factions...

    And i really appreciate if some persons stop to say about this topic to be or not useless...this will remain to see in the future.

    I expect just ideas/thoughts from every brain written on this ''paper''...in attempt to find something very unique/original...and in attempt to boost Third Age further with originality from other mods.

    Hmm, this is diffiicult.

    I think that the big " super units " ( Mumakil, Trolls, Wainriders, Ents etc. ) are giving the factions that can aquire them a " very very " special feeling if played.

    The " super units " ( Fountains, Dragonslayers,WoM ) are great too, but they are just a " better infantry ".

    So on one hand, adding a " special unit " to each faction, seems paradox, if we are searching for ideas that make factions differ more, or more unique, but we have the other side, that rare recruited units, apart from the standard ME2/TATW variations, are really adding a ton of spice to the faction.

    As Harad i have an Inf/cav/Arch army with the dreaded Mumakil, no other factions was able to tame or even discover.

    Led by the Witchking and three nazgul ( very spicy cav ! ), thousands of Orcs on foot with bows, axes, clubs, held in order by "dismounted numenoreans" are waiting for the " OLOG HAI " to join there army.

    Finally the sylvans move out of the Forest... and there were many elves with long bows coming from the woods, followed by the Galadhrim Spears and Swords, and with great " huums " and " boohs " the ENTS joined them to March for Middle Earth.

    The Khan looked over his army ! All clad in golden Armor the greatest warrios of Rhun assembled, for a last attack on Dale. And then the earth started shaking, when the Wainriders finally came to join in the destruction of their enemy.


    Maybe ths is just me, but i really like the diversion in my armies.

    So ths would be my idea,...!^^

    If you would be more... Polite... Then maybe.. just maybe the mod team will care , but to be honest I think the only that needs abit more change would be Dale or maybe some dwarven rangers or carvery like in bfme 1-2

    I guess you're talking about me? Well I'm still allowed to post my opinion or?
    And I did not say this thread is crap. Maybe it sounded like this, but it was not intended. I really like to have more uniqueness for the factions. Though I'd say that TATW is far more unique than every other mod out there.
    Anyway my main point was that we don't need it for most factions cause they already are quite unique and we should focus first on those who are not on the same level.

    This mod is the king of the kings, no other mod has or will ever surpass The Third Age Mod !!! Also every faction in the mod is unique, you can't make them "more unique", the best and the only thing that can be done about this mode are the following stuffs :

    - create the great and awesome places and citadels/castles from the movie/book like : Minas Tirith, Helms Deep, Halls of Moria, Khazadum Bridge(this one can be easelly made, once I will finish learning how to create and edit maps I will make one), Black Gate, Gol Guldur, Isengard, Rivendel, Amon**** forgot his name --- this stuffs are made by the KK and his team as far as I know and I have read the forum.

    - balance every faction by develop the more to what they really are, make the orcs weaker but more spamable (orcs are weak but strong in numbers), elves and dwarfs few in numbers but stronger, change units and make them all be different, so that players can easelly see the diffrence between OMM orcs and Mordor orcs or Isengard orcs(3 different armors that can be easelly distinguished), Gondor - stronger cavalry but weaker foot troops, Gondor is unique as it is...there aren't too much stuffs to be done here to make it more unique...we can talk about Minas Tirith, W. and E. Osgiliath..but that's all I think...

    - one that is already made but not completely - the heroes, fellowship of the ring, and the others. (They are already in the game and is awesome but from my point of view is can be improved more).




    Every faction of the MOD is unique, all that can be done is improve them and bring the Lord of The Rings beasts to life like : trolls,mumakill,trees (are already "alive") but there are others like : The Balrog(incoming..), Shelob, The Eagles, The Fell beasts(Nazgul flying beasts), Undead Army of Aragon.

    I know that isn't possible to create flying "troops" but we could create them as the mumakill and trees has been created but make their whole animation as they keep swing their wings and they keep flying in one place, make them very resistant to melee attacks but somehow less resistant to arrows and catapult/trebuche missiles. Making them using the Elephant template it will make them playlable, can't be put on walls, using siege equipment, disable their ability to have the weapons and armors upgraded(only fell beasts can have 1 armor upgrade, the normal fell beasts and the fell beast of the Witch King, it has a nice unique armor...too bad that Eowin needed to cut of his head ).

    When i saw post from you...who begin with "Hmmm,this is difficult" i was thinking to see something special.

    But...it is how it is.You just say something about every faction...you don't stop to think for one faction.

    This is the point=>to focus thinking in one point and not speaking generally.

    This is my angle of looking one faction=>Harad
    Looking at this faction is like we look in all history books gathered together in one place, with all human history ... and even far before the man existence.

    And suggestions are many exposed by me in another place,about how to make this faction to look like a faction with extreme parts in one point colected=>primitive and modern

    This "primitive and modern together" can be the original signature for Harad
    ...but we can find signatures like this for every faction

    Some comments about this...or other angle of view for Harad...or for any other faction..?...
