Will it be 0-turn; or will there be a 1-turn option?

There will be an option for both 0 turn and 1 turn![]()
**RS Dev Team***Reciprocal Repper!* RIP Calvin- you will be missed
There are other options as well:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The number of faction specific campaigns is slowly increasing. The idea is that these will be more of a challenge than playing that faction through either the 0-turn or 1-turn options.
With the faction specific campaigns there will be the equivalent of the play_0_turn or play_1_turn in the '_IMPORTANT_STUFF' folder in RS1.6.
So, deciding how to play RSII will be your first decision.

From the shape of the black censored area in that pic, im going to say that it is covering a picture of the thing from fantastic 4, but without arms.
Thanks for the info.
Will I be perma-locked into my choice? In RS1.6, for example, it's a bit of a pain if I want to start a new campaign using 0-turn instead of 1-turn, but want to maintain my 1-turn style in the previous one. Make sense?
I won't be installing a hundred copies of RTW just to do it either, as it's never worked properly on my computer.
There's a bit of discussion about this. It is possible to simply solve any problem via adding more modfolders. eg:
- Rome Campaign (0-turn)
- Rome Campaign (1-turn)
- Pergamon Campaign (0-turn)
- Pergamon Campaign (1-turn)
Some things are different between 0-turn and 1-turn. The EDU (obviously) and EDB (for the economy) need to be different. Oh, and scripts that do stuff like spawn garrison armies, I guess T___T
It's modfolders of RS2. Hmm... a single modfolder is not large, less than 50 mb (though if you have a lot of them, it will add up).
AS you can see shown above, we currently have 11 modfolders in the launcher. The "test" is obviously test. Of the other 10, 8 are faction campaigns. So you might have a starting point of 18 modfolders (9 different campaigns with 0/1 turn) It ain't much memory ... oh and there's some other tricks that reduces the file size and makes RTW like the data more (repacking or something into .pak files).
Not the Imperial Communist Red Guard?
Wait, Romans were supposed to have red.. reds... were the Romans actually secretly a socialist community? Every legionary must carry their copy of the little red book (words of Marius in red)

Or we may well do the 0 turn / 1 turn for each faction campaign thing through a little batch file, which seems the more economical solution in terms of space. There are probably only 2 or 3 files that need swapping around.
with the new "launcher" screen, will I still be able to play RS in windowed mode? (as in adding -ne in theh command line?)
Im sorry but the blanked out guy in the launcher is doubtless to be a Roman.
Looks awesome though, 0 turn all the way for me.
As it's in the list of switches that I have at the bottom - the answer is yes....
It's still possible to play RSII without the launcher by having the right switches. Having the launcher does make it easier though (the ability to delete the map.rwm files alone does that). The 'launcher' itself was developed by PatricianS from the RTR team (there has been an amount of co-operation between these two teams - as there has with other mod teams such as EB)..
There was a very brief period when the blanked out guy wasn't blanked out........
