    Default King Dain's Last stand

Ok, so I had king dain and a battle hardended army that has depleted numbers, I attacked Moria with this army and A goblin army came out of nowhere (this is the same campaign as the one in the unusual campaign playout thread). So I retreated to the fort west of Moria and was attacked, but they wouldn't charge, so I sallied out and went all 300 on their asses, except I didnt have the luxury of defending and I had to charge a army that is bigger then mine..

So here are the screenshots below. This is obviously towards the end of the battle and I didn't take any screenshots at the start where I used my 17 horsemen to charge behind the enemy lines. Btw, King Dain lasted about 5 minutes by himself surrounded by orcs, and he was still killing and I lost two good generals, they both lasted til the end, the second was Balin

This is king dain pwning some orcs still, in his final stand.

In the end he lost, but he fought heroically, it sucks to lose such a great general and king.

They can recruit Dale cav. mercenaries near Erebor and the Dale regions (eg. Dale and Esgaroth).

@Shocked: I see you do not prefer siege weapons. Try including some catapults. Make you a bit slower, but unstoppable.

Nice battle screens anyway. Do you have any more?

Yes, it's a known bug, ahem... I meant tech.

Soon it will be able to fly long distances and poor boiling oil on the petty souls of the enemies...

Loll I had to sally out and the fort was floating XD.
and I dont have any more screenies atm, but I had a really good battle with gimli just before, I was outnumbered badly, with 3 armies vsing my one army and I won

Edit: I forgot I took a screenie of the victory, was a very long and hard battle and I lost my cavalry at the start of the battle to wooden spikes so I couldn't chase up the enemies and slay them thats why so many if them survived

    ohh and

Yeahh I was trying to rush at Moria and see if I could take it, but I failed after a few battles, I won them but at dear costs, and then it came to the battle above with the last of my forces and king dain leading them

Now there is like 3-4 full stacks of goblins surrounding Moria doing nothing but stopping me from getting to it

nice screens out there.... the Dwarfs are cool and awesome but I kinda avoid them since they don't have a good range force excluding cats witch are doing a nice job....

I don't have screens but I can say if you know some tactics and like the Dwarfs you can easy beat orcs 4 or 5 times greater in numbers than your dwarf army
With almost one full stack of Dwarf soldiers I beat the crap out of 4 and a half stacks of OMM orcs.(I have 4 units of CATS that done the job done while my strong dwarfs hold the lines)
The OMM had trolls but only 5 units and I took them out easely (AOE took their heads as trophies )

So Dwarfs can really do some fights, the bad thing is they ALWAYS have troop losses after fights :|

HINT: If you play dwarfs ALWAYS take use you DALE Cavalry Mercenaries to take out fast the enemy units with Armor Piercing !!!! (Snagas seems to really like to kill dwarfs )

Yeah but that army of 500 dwarves had no archers and little cavalry and it was a army of units that have been depleted by lots of battles, ontop of that I HAD to charge the larger army So I knew I was gonna lose so I was gonna go out fighting with king dain, but I didn't expect King Dain or his army to hold out so well

Ohh and make sure you always have at least 3 or more units of Vault wardens or Halberds because they really hold the line well with VERY little loses if used right, and yeah, always have Axe units for trolls

Huh! That's a whole lot of dead goblins!
Battlefield must have been stinky like hell afterwards, hope you wched yor hands...

Anyways, the desicion if a battle is won clear or heroic is surely bugged.
In this case i think i was due to the 10star dain "the engineer" against zero-star goblin gen, that made you win, not sooo surprising.
What is surprising and seems to proove your skill as a commander is that so few of them actually managed to flee the field!!

EDIT: watched your linked pictures. Wow! Ugly! Surely high danger of diseases!!
These orcsies must have come back again and again, not believing their defeat instead of running away, and finally got slaughtered.

Nice man, good that he has killed many orcs before dying.

On the other hand, once Lord Thorin died in my campaign under boiling oil! It was just silly!

Btw, dwarves Campaign is really interesting for me. I always try to ignore the armies and just siege the cities/castles because dwarven heavy infantry does magic in the streets, specially if you use shield wall. But in the open field they can be flanked, so it would be a little tricky.
