THE SECOND WAR:: KINGDOM UNDER FIRE
A Medieval 2:: Total War Modification based on Kingdom Under Fire: A War of Heroes

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The First War had finished. Over one hundred years of peace, and only now had the continent of Bersiah managed to begin to rebuild itself. Keelianih, the Lich, had been defeated, thanks to the efforts of the Xok Knights, the 7 greatest heroes of Bersiah, and even then, victory had been soured by the loss of one of their own. Obtaining the Ancient Heart was the evil sorcerors ultimate goal - sacrificing Nible, the Keeper of the Ancient Heart, and son of Amos, the god of the sky, to bring about the resurrection of the dead, under the control of the Tobied, the god of the earth, and he so nearly succeeded - his forces swelled ever more after the noble sacrifice of both Orc and Human. This alliance, unnatural through the millenia of racial hatred and persecution against each other, proved to be the beginning of the end for the lich.

This so called "First War", had been but the latest in a chain of cataclysmic events which had roared through the ages as the two god's sought to over come each other, either by force, as now, or by guile. Although he had failed in his goal, and was slain by Keither, the First of the Xok Knights, the lich had ensured that the continent remained unstable with both intrigue amongst the human forces, as they struggled for power in the new world order, and also among the orc tribes, as they warred amonst each other for the prime herding locations in the Hexter desert.

    RACES::
    HUMANS
The men and women of Bersiah are the most numerous race of the continent, although their lack of a prolonged tolerance to lengthy extremes of temperatures see's them situated in the temperate climates in the West, ranging from cold winters in the North and West, and the more subtropical situations in the South and East.

They are the most varied of all the races of Bersiah, and the most technologically advanced military, not tied to tradition like the dwarves, or mistrust of all that is not arcane, as in the elves. Their allegiances are varied and multilayered, and at the same time the most and least trustworthy of allies.

    DWARVES
The Dwarves still cling to the ways of their elders, and follow what tradition, rather than sense tells them. Stubborn and insular, it is only down to their skills in engineering that keep them alive, the mountain fastnesses acting like a dam against the flood of the eastern tribes, as they break like so much water against the Dwarven Technology.

There is only one collective remaining of the Dwarves, and that is on the spine of the Revants Mountains, running from its base near the Hironeiden Pass, up to the very tip. However, they frequently run into the Dark Elves, ostracized, subterranean kin of the Elves of Elhonna should they delve to the East. They are tricky, and rarely treat diplomatically with other races, unless threat to their very survival is apparent. Even then, they will bargain their way, looking out only for themselves.

    ELVES
The elves, much like the Dwarves, are a dying race - human dominance, and Orcish brutality has seen them flee to their forest strongholds, hidden by magic and deadly archery. They are distrustful of the mechanics of steam and machinery, however, and prefer to fight their battles with hand forged weaponry, and master crafted bows - even their siege weapons are made with style.

    ORCS
Yellow skinned, boar faced tribal savages, they are vicious creatures, known for their brutality and seemingly animal like behaviour.

    NB: I'm Hiring!!!

I am looking for any and all modders - scripters, texturers, mappers, 3D Artists, AI specialists, the works. I myself am a coder and texturer by trade, but can put my mind to a fair bit. It's nearly 3am here, so I'm going to leave it at that, until tomorrow!

well Vaz` I will be honest most of the skills I have, you probably are capable off! I am a jack of all trades in modding (except 2d art and anything graphical, I know nothing) but am willing to help in this project. Hopefully you will be willing to perhaps help me re-do the ui ( like you did in Leg Gurre` de` Cent ans` Hundred years war) for my mod.
basically the velvet like bordering you did in the campaign screen(not map borders, but your personal environment, screen borders) thank you
    and good luck!

Hi, Druvatar, I appreciate the enthusiasm - however I think you may have the wrong Vaz for the UI, sorry! I've not had the pleasure yet of working with the LGCA Team.

Also, this mod is mainly a side project for me to attempt to put all my skills that I've learnt so far to the test, AND to learn new skills that will help my existing mods - which all in all leads to me to having very little time - I am helping about 6-7 already, and cannot afford to add yet another mod, which I am to keep on top of, as I'm struggling at the minute.

At the moment, I'm just getting together some information referring to the Rosters, and Faction's Overview, and am playing through the original story so I get an idea of how it plays out, and whether I can incorporate it otherwise.
