Hi, I'm just wondering, since I want to try and get into retexturting units, what are some good, free programs that I can use?

    Gimp
PS is far better, but also costly.

CS4 enters the regions of thousands I hear...could be false though! PSelements would be much cheaper, but lacks many necessary features for modding (Most noteably an alpha channel view)

GIMP can be dolled up to PS standards - the only reason I dont use it is because i prefer the PS interface.

You could go down the illegal road and download it.... but that would be bad and irresponsible. So don't do it!

If you don't mind spending hundreds of dollars on a graphic editing program, plump for PS (I'm sure I don't need to say how powerful it is compared to free programs). However, if this isn't something to do then go ahead and download GIMP.

With all (unofficial) plugins and other stuff, you can pimp up GIMP almsot equal to PS

Not sure, but he doesn't use it for much besides editting photos for his company and to make our holiday pictures turn out nicer. We have a dog and the flash makes her eyes glow in the photo.
