After seeing this interview I can now say it has happened again:

"The uniform editor will be released shortly after the release of N:TW" (Not his exact words)

Well done guys, 6 more months of dlc and lack of modding support to look forward to

Haha, well spotted mate. Yeah, we might as well forget about the uniform editor, I'm afraid.

They said they were going to release mod tools for ETW but that never happened. I can almost bet it will at least a year before they release this tool. Look at the multi-player campaign, it was supposed to be released shortly after ETW but we get it 1 year and 1 month later.

Well ... release of ETW was in March 2009 and MP campaign comes in December 2009 ... which calendar do you have that it is 1 year and 1 month later for you?

However ... again the same bullpeep that the unit addon's sold by DLC are guilty for everything and "bla bla bla" ... isn't it slowly boring to tell fairy tales?
Unit's can be still made in full order by modders because they made their own tools and so they will do it in NTW same, because how does the critic against NTW tell us? It's the same base as ETW!
Sure, that the editor will not be given with the release is bad, but I'm wondering how many guys are hidden scryer's with cristall balls and know even now what everything will be with the game.

How ever, there is a short path between skepticism and prejudice against NTW and the tendency is more prejudice without knowledge, only with assumtion's that are packed as "truth", because after ETW everyone knows everything and there could only coming crap, lies, , greed for money, broken promises, missing features, etc. as game and with the game NTW. Every written or told word by CA staff members are remarked with ist and be aware when CA told something with the terms "later" or "problem" ... they will only mess us around!
    Funny, isn't it?

actually they can ony create skins.... the models for the units are actually locked

Sail your ship as part of a fleet. Devs previously worked on: Darthmod, World of Warplanes, World of Tanks, RaceRoom, IL2-Sturmovik, Metro, STALKER and many other great games..

And why does it work in the ETW Mod for the US civil war with new models as I was told (sorry, I never do modding this way and rarely use mods at all).
How ever, isn't it the same way as the units of the unit addons are? I was told, that they are not using new models, only new skins by CA. So I can't understand where the problem is with it in the community! If someone don't like the unit addons sold by DLC, so what? Don't buy them! The modders can do the same for free with every unit of the era you want to have and this since release!

    Kudos for saying the truth.
+ Rep for telling it like it is.
And - for telleing the half truth and letting out details! It was allways told that it is a stand alone game and all the other things are only interpretations of the community and games magazines, not more and not less!
Also there are given new things in NTW als the support system etc. Oh well, sorry, this should be also in ETW but no where it was ever told that the support system will be given with ETW!

It was told that the price will be like a full game - around 50,00 Euro- and what a mess! Now we all know it will be 30.00 Euro for the normal version and 40.00 Euro for the imperial edition. What a mess that it isnt expensive as the people told us here and on other boards with their horror fairy tales. So let us find something else to bash further on everything what CA tells, write and do! We got it, the uniform editor isnt inside with the release, hurray!

That also exactly what it is, sorry!

Yep my mistake for some reason when I was typing that post I thought the game was released in November. Hmm come to think about it maybe that was the original release date and it was postponed ... oh well.

Why didn't CA just not bother announcing the uniform editor and then releasing it as a surprise. This reeks of another unfinished, rushed product.

They haven't even got their act straight until about a month ago.

It's going to be an expansion!

It's going to integrate into ETW!

    No it's not!

There's going to be a uniform editor!

    No, there's not!

Next thing, there will be no attrition, no new combat mechanics, no new nothing. It will just be ETW with shakos.

Well it's hardly rocket science, considering that ETW was a medieval game with tricorne hats
