Default Tiger Woods...deserves privacy or not?

Two schools of thought on the Tiger Woods story. One says he deserves his privacy to attend to "personal" matters. The other line says he gave up vast amounts of his privacy as he became a celebrity, one of the best golfers of all time, and an endorser of many products. Personally I think he forfeited his right to privacy when he crashed on a public street after being "clubbed" by his wife for numerous marital infidelities. What are your thoughts?

    Fun first, seriousness second.

Not so much a joke as a question. Why did Tiger sleep with seven women - he only needed six to get 18 holes...

I frankly couldn't care about Tiger's escapades. However, considering his fame and the publicity it brings probably contributed to his sleeping around, then I don't see why he should suddenly be able to disappear. He wasn't complaining when the publicity was good now, was he...

I really wanted to title the thread "Tiger Woods jokes", but I wasn't sure that was political enough. hehe

I believe that there should be laws prohibiting the media from invading personal privacy, as by that point, they are harming the rights of an individual. Judges should be given full power to issue good heft fines for harassment.

If he never received privacy what makes you think anyone else is entitled to it. Like it or not, Mr. Woods is{was} a role model and as such it comes with expectations. All of us are human and hense...flawed. The point is not that he engaged in unsightliness... The matter is that he got......"caught".

Bring it.... There is no such thing as bad press. It's just a matter of how you spin it. {just ask Martha S.} I would have Mocha latte's delivered to the photo hounds parked outside the gate and once or twice a week have them all up to the house for dinner and a swim. It's not the spotlight, it's how one acclimates to it.

"The weather's fine today" said the man, he was standing in the garage.

And yeah, they were forced to live the lives of the rich and famous infront of the press. Give it a rest allready.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

There's a pretty big difference between the valid ambition of fame and having paparazzi follow you and your kids to soccer games.

Say cheese, cuz they are now an intimate part of your life. You have wealth, and all the comforts life can offer. People die by the thousands every day of misery, torture and starvation, and these folks have the audacity to fien suffering at the price of a smile.

Dude, the guy is a golfer. How fricking important could he be? That's no excuse for this kind of behavior. I don't care how much you hate a certain class of people, people's privacy is to be respected.

Almost every man here and on this board, if he was a superstar and had access to hot action 24/7, married or not, would take that option.

It's a rare, rare man who is principled enough to pass that up. You see it even with politicians, judges, journalists, actors, lots of them having affairs all the time. Most of the time, it's kept pretty quiet. But crash a car in the street, and the news chases the story. Journalists of course new what Tiger woods was doing before now, it just became more newsworthy following his car crash.

The OP is correct this is not political enough. And the suggestion to post Tiger Woods jokes at the end of each post clinches it. Moving. Moving. Gone.

    WE own Celebrities HOAA
I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a . Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow

He would have been better just coming out with the truth when this started. That way, it could be in the past and we would move onto more pressing issues, like octupi that can use tools.

    How cares.

The media should be avoided, ignored and nukes when it comes to celebrity news. Don't even give them ratings.

I'm not middle aged and according to you Greeks aren't white. I don't respect him anymore and at the same time I could care less.
