    Default Settlers

For some of us there is no way we can possibly lose in this game we put it on VH/VH with any faction and just crush with any submod.

Once you reach this level you mostly play for contents such as to use units you want and such. But to make it more new and stimulating we leave our previous Shores and imigrate to somewhere else on the other map, i do this alot i Move my nations to some other place and surrender by land to someone else. examples

HRE In Caffa and around, Scotland in Egypt, Kwarz in spain. I wanna know who else do this and what faction you used and how your game is. it can be very fun to Settle somewhere else like this at least it has been for me.

Migration games are always fun. I've done a few of those myself. Wrote a small story from my old Cuman campaign (It's in my sig). Also migrated France to Greece in my current game. Posted a pic in the "My campaign" thread.

Try Denmark to Greece and Byzantium.

    Try Norway to Spain.

    Try Novgorod to Moors (Almoravids).

And the sickest I tried, Kiev to Aragon, with Barcelona as new capital.

Just take all your starting armies to another place. Once you posses enough regions there, sell your former homes.
But I must warn you: it can screw up the balance in the region you left. Nothing wrong with that, but still I think you should know.

Thanks. once you take your armies to another place, are your former homes not attacked quickly since they are defenceless or has it been your experience the AI take a while.

It varies depending on which faction you migrate with and who your neighbours are. Hre , england , scotland , templars etc all have hostile/unfriendly neighbours and your lands get taken fairly quick for instance.

It's a good idea to sell or trade your starting regions as soon as possible. I ussualy trade 2-3 for a castle in the area i want to migrate to and sell the rest. Then with my starting army seige the closest city to the castle i just traded for. So you have 1 castle , 1 city and alot of florins to begin your migration. Join a Crusade too as soon as possible to reduce upkeep costs while moving or your funds will dry up quick

That's exactly what I did with my last game with Denmark.

Moved to Greece, bought Adrianople from Byzzies, took Constantinople, joined a Crusade, took Nicaea en route, when I captured Cairo, I sold it to Crusader States for 10000 florins, and then sweeping entire Balkans up to Belgrade (and taking Belgrade as well) was piece of cake, cause when my Huscarls come into play........with their AP axes.........Byzzie armor sucks then big time.

In that case, you're in serious trouble. I don't often get into "contact" with the Byzantines, most of time it are sieges. (It's not my fault they can't build a navy to defeat mine! )

Its easiest to migrate with the help of crusades. and prepare to start over with an Heir and build ure royal family back up.

I've been inspired by this thread, and am now 60 turns into a Norwegian campaign, where I have migrated to North Africa. My capital is at Tunis (I renamed it Carthage), and I am well on my way to becoming lord of North Africa. The Moors only have Fes, Marakesh and Palermo (which they took on jihad). I declared ceasfire for them giving me Murcia, but I will soon re-engage them, once my full stack has rebuilt.

Overall, I would say that so far, it is one of the most fun SS campaigns I have ever played. Vikings + light Moorish spearmen = Norwegian victory!

    Long live the Norwafricans!

I was recently in a game where, as Scotland, I had to eliminate England from the map (it's one of the victory conditions).

So, I chased them out of Britain, back to Normandy where I presumed the French would finish off the job. After a rather annoying couple of full-stack English invasions from the sea, I send my spy into France to see just what the hell was happening: it turned out they had taken half of France, and were using it as a base to attack me.

So, my armies were sent over the channel and take all the English castles I could find (even though I had really hoped to avoid engaging anybody on the continent). Having taken half of France, I presumed that would be it. Nope, not quite.

It turned out that the English court had migrated to Switzerland, and was in the process of rampaging through northern Italy. You've no idea how relieved I was when Bern finally fell.

    Great thread.

Do to my love of Norman Knights, I take Sicily and always migrate to Caen and Rennes. I then change Sicily's name to "The Kingdom of Normandy" and ravage all of england.

Then I do what any Norman would do..............
