Hi! Im considering to give RTW another try but i didntt really enjoy the vanilla game because it didnt apeal to me visually or hisorically plus it has a few years on its neck. My question is where should i beggin when installing Rome Total Realism? and are there anny mods for RTW that improves the visual appearance such as grass, trees etc. Thanks

Re: questions about RTR and what to install
The RTR mods are historically accurate - well, most mods are compared to 'vanilla' RTW.
The original RTW 6 Gold was designed to be used with RTW 1.2. That was ported by some fans (not the RTR team) to use RTW 1.5 and/or RTW BI 1.6 and is known as RTR PE (platinum) edition. If you download RTR PE it's probably best to download the mod-foldered version.
There are a number of mods that were based on RTR PE that can be found within the RTR Forums - Extended Realism.
The 'next' generation of RTR mods started with a mini-campaign RTR VII The Iberian Conflict (TIC) which is based in the Iberian Peninsular and concentrates on the struggle between Carthage and Celtiberia.
The most recent RTR mod is a mid-campaign RTR VII Fate Of Empires (FoE) which is based on the Western Mediterranean. The factions that are playable are Carthage, Celtiberia, a Gallic faction in Northern Italy (the name eludes me at the moment), Rome and Epirus.
Links to all mods can be found in the mod index: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=169585
If you want to have a look at the visuals most of these mods have a screen shot thread.
