    Default Gondorian Fleet

Hi, this is my first thread, I hope that I'm doing all quit well

At first i want to say that I love all TW-games especially this mod , it's fantastic.
I followed this forum for almoust a year so I'm just a little bit informed.

I noticed that Pelagir is at the beginning a small town with a little port. But in the trilogy and other books , Pelagir is remarked as the center of Gondorian fleet and trade. I know that it would not be good to make it a large town for istalling a shipyard but wouldnt it be possible to install a building like " Gondorian Fleet Center" or something else, where larger ships are buildable from the beggining?

Hmmmmm... interesting. It may need some balancing, but it is possible.

yes, pelargir with umbar and dol amroth are the greats ports of the middle earth.
this three cities could be own city models in the strategic map as minas tirith, barad dur,the black gates, minas morgul or isengard, because this cities, dol amroth with the famous white beacon, pelargir with the famous port as carthague city in the ancient world and umbar are very important cities in the middle earth.

Guys, if you give 2 big ports to Gondor then Harad has a problem.

As it is, Gondor has two level 1 ports, while Harad has one level 1 port and one level 2 port...

Hmm thats right, but Gondor has mainly to focus on its land armies against Mordor and Harad, so it can evenly not start big campagins at sea against Harad even with two great ports. And I would only give Pelagir a building where to build larger ships. Dol Amroth should have something like " Edhellond Elven Haves" what gives tradeble good or happiness etc (perhaps an AOR unit like Elvish Bloodline Ultra Kngihts, but I'm digressing

Yes I know it was evenly only a joke...

@Outlaw: I just ment the Alcaranodar ships, I just forgot the name thanks. I know if there were a building where to build these large ships from beginning it would be not fair so they had to been only avaible after some turns.

Or to give Harad the same possiblity..
And perhaps the HE too, no other faction is a truely seaforce and the focus is on the maritime war between Gondor and Harad.

Gondor has such big problems anyway with Economy that I would not be able to get any advantage out of buildings like these, so I would say put them in as when it comes to the late game i think it is stupid that something in lore should have to be built if you follow me, as there are meant to be there from the beginning - and you could put a simple turn limit block on building the high end ships if you wanted to so no worries.

    Anyway, good idea Tach.

Considering that this mod starts a good 60 years before the War of the Ring and considering that the books' main focus was the War of the Ring I don't see what the problem is with not including the structure? I mean by the time you can afford the units it offers and by the time your supposed to have said units your already in the late game where standard Gondor ports can build said units.

The idea was evenly not to have high-end ships at beggining but only make Pelagir more important. It was the first Numιnorian Harbour in todays Gondor, and for all time Gondors Navy Headquarter. It controlled the bay of Anduin and so the trade upon Anduin to Osgiliath. And even in later time , in the War of the Ring, it was still very important due to its strategical placement. Often it was plundered and sacked by corsairs.

Perhaps it would be possible to make better ships only in late period avaible like the advanced barracks?

The idea is that Pelargir would have more stature at the beginning of the mod, not that Gondor receives any sort of shortcut to fancy ships, or anything really related to the way ship construction is done in the mod at all. He just wants the game to follow the books a little more, which makes perfect sense to me.

You just wasted 4 seconds of your life reading this sentence. You'll read it again because it was so funny and waste another 4. And since you read that sentence, some more disappeared, count this sentence and it's 'nother couple. Good job time waster!
