    Default 3.5.3 patch thread

3.5.3 is up! You can find it in the download thread. To alleviate confusion, this patch is only posted in the full form, so it contains 3.5 through 3.5.3. It's only a ~30mb download, so it's not too big.

The version that contains just the changed files from 3.5.2 is available upon request. I'm not going to put it up in public so there's no confusion about which to install.

Does this SS have anything to do with the new patch. We tried playing online using Hamachi.

Changelog's in the patch docs in the download, but here you go:
    -Fix Mtksheta region
-No more Chaeonians or chariots as the revolt CTD fix unit
    -Check on akontistai text display
    -Increase anti-revolt-CTD merc price
-Made the Pyrrhus/Rome battle more balanced
-Get rid of all stables and ranges in DS
-High priority error to fix: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...69#post6419269
-Nifty trick by PatricianS: Warning about wrong BI version

Yeah, it's probably the patch that's causing that problem. Have you both patched to 3.5.3?

Yes we did both patch but the problem still existed before the patch came out. I have the gold cd with Rome/BI on the same disc and he doesn't.
Do you think that may be part of the issue?

Interesting. No, I don't think it's the game, since your exe is showing the same checksum. (I could be wrong...that checksum might be _only_ for the exe. In that case, you might have a fundamental incompatibility with your installations.)

Tell you what: both of you, delete your entire ExRM directories and install from scratch (installer first, then 3.5.3 full patch). It's possible that one of you has some old backup file in your installation that the other doesn't.

    Just so I understand.

Start clean and install 3.4 and then the latest one 3.5.3?
    Is that correct?

Since I'm easily confused on these things... 3.5.3 is downloaded and installed over 3.5.2, right? No complications there?

Love the mod by the way.

    Hope you like it, CA!

GE: Yep, just install it over the top of 3.5.2. It should work fine (I have a clean ExRM installation in my RTR:TIC directory that exists solely for the purpose of testing patches.). I'm glad you enjoy it!

Neat. Follow up question: is it save game compatible, or should I finish crushing the feeble southerners under my heel before installing?

My computer has commited suicide. I'm looking for a pheonix down but they are quite rare in todays age.

How are people faring as Rome/Epirus in the early game? Hopefully we've got it right this time.

So 3.5.3 is a patch not a hotfix, right? So do I install 3.5 patch then this or straight from 3.4 to 3.5.3 or install this over 3.5.2?

If you already have 3.5.x, it might work if you just install 3.5.3 over it. Just reset the map using the batch file, and start a new campaign.

Can I just install from scratch from 3.4 or 3.5? I rather not install over 3.5.2 in case some crap might screw it up.

Installing from scratch would probably be more foolproof.

Oh nothing too serious. Think it's just a corrupt registry or system file. I have a vague idea how to fix it myself but I'd rather leave it for my dad and his 23+ years of technical experience to deal with it. Besides... the immediate problem is that we can't actually find the boot CD anyway!
