Well one of my favorite aspects about TW is i could do whatever the hell i wanted. i was god for this nation and you couldnt make be do anything. That was fun. So I see theres guna be these 3 story driven campaigns in the game. Ok thats cool. but will there still be a place where i could be god? As much as i like an objective, i hate being controlled. I just hope theres still a true sandbox mode like the previous titles.

The Mastery of Europe campaign is the Sanbox campaign, I don't know why they call it "Story Driven".

Doesn't seem like much of a sand box with the funnel to Moscow map and the limited amount of playable factions.

CA's idea of sandbox is "it let's the player order his own troops to Russia, and doesn't have the AI do it".

Just as well, otherwise the troops would end up in Swaziland.

Their idea of sandbox campaigns keeps getting less and less with each new installment. Shogun and MTW have more playable factions then NTW what gives?

My memory is a little hazzy but Shogun had 7 factions last time I checked. At lease from what you start out with.

MTW has 12 factions to start out with barring expansions.

NTW I'm assuming it will be between Shogun and MTW....oh wait, NTW's an expansion, the hell you guys comparing two full games to an expansion?

From what I understand the GC will be very open and we can do what we want. We will have objectives that need to be achieved in order to win but how we go about that is up to us. We will also receive missions but it is our choice whether to complete them or not. If we don't we just miss out on the rewards. I guess we will soon see.

Actually, in all GCs you do whatever you want, but in the 1st too (Italy and Egypt) there are some big restrictions, I think. The Mastery of Europe (the one with all Europe, all factions, etc.) is the real Gc and real freedom.

from what i understood the mastery of europe just offers some missions (like the senate missions in rtw) which you can complete if you want, so it's still very sandbox

You'll have your missons, but the rest is entirely up to you.

Well...Since the map is much more constricted, the playable factions laughable, you can not call this sandbox. You have from 1805 to 1812 to conquer X amount of provinces. Given that the map is so limited it amounts basically to conquer everything by 1812. In ETW You could play as Prussia, win and have never set a foot to the Americas o India. NTW will simply be a conquer the map thing.

As far as i know the victory conditions for the french will include holding moscow and that's it for the scriping in mastery of europe.

That is BS....This should be an expansion not a stand-alone....

You will have lots of objectives that you must complete, but only if you don't want to lose and considering CA's masterful AI, I don't think your choices will be able to alter your fate anyway - so think of it as a sandbox.

Story driven campaigns are great , especially for this period.

However, I must agree that an option to campaign with certain number of qualifications should remain, granted it isn't too finnecky.
