Default OUT OF DATE Half Strength Maratha Sub-Mod 1.2 for Darthmod

Half Strength Maratha Sub-Mod v1.2 for DarthMod (EUA version)

    Requires DarthMod v4.4 or higher!

v1.2 includes fixes 6464 Mysore elephants bug

This Mod is meant to try to limit or at least slow down Maratha's usual domination of the Indian Theater in the Grand Campaign when controlled by the AI.

When this mod is used, Maratha starts the Grand Campaign with starting armies at half their normal strength and Maratha's starting treasure is also reduced by half.

Backup the vanilla startpos.esf file in your etw\data\campaigns\main folder and replace with included file.

Great job! I'm getting tired of the maratha owning everything after only 20 turns or so. Is this the large unit sizes though? I'm playing om Medium unit size, so a startpos with those sizes would be nice.

it is built for darthmod, however, you could easily modify a copy of the vanilla startpos file for the same effect.

all I did was reduce starting armies for Maratha by one-half and did the samething for Maratha's starting money using the esf editor.

Great mod, but it still doesnt help much if the European factions doesnt invade India sooner or later... Is it possible to give some regions to Britain/France at the start maybe that would get them fighting for indian soil at least...

actually hip I realized that if you allow mughals to recruit sikh troops they do a wonderful job stomping maratha. Just an idea

Can you point me to where these values are in the Esf-editor? I can't seem to find them.

(This is a vainilla tested solution, it has not been tested in darthmod)

I have modified the original startpos.esf in order to create an balance (historical accurately) between all factions in the game, any faction from India will never invade Europe or America because their treasury is going to be progressively affected. This causes that another factions from India, like Punjab, are going to emerge and compete for the continent resources inside their own geographical distribution.

These are the changes made in Diplomacy:

Mughal and Maratha are no in war from the start.
Russia and Poland aren't allies, instead of, they are enemies.
Ottoman Empire and Russia are no in war from the start.

These are the changes made in Treasury:

Progressively reduction of earns by rise of debt to Mughal Empire (giving $15.000 to Pirates in 1000 turns).
Progressively reduction of earns by rise of debt to Maratha (giving $15.000 to Pirates in 1000 turns).
Progressively reduction of earns by rise of debt to Poland (giving $10.000 to Pirates in 1000 turns).

It has also the correct historical succession characters for Spain, France, Great Britain, Austria, Prusia, Papal State (Italic States), Portugal and Russia.

Thus the dominant factions are going to be Great Britain, Prusia, Austria, France, Rusia, Spain, United Provinces, etc. Indian factions or Poland will never challenge the power of the XVIII Century European Empires.

To install it you just have to unzip the two compressed files and replace the file in path "Empire Total War/data/campaign/main/startpos.esf" , be sure to make backup from original file before replace it.
