    Default Force Diplomacy

    Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to make a force diplomacy script. There's such a script in Roma surrectum and it can be more "realistic". Example: I'm playing as TO. The roman empire is getting destroyed and I'm offering a ceasefire( I took constantinople for fun, it was a rebel settlement but then hungary attacked with Romans as allies). They're always rejecting, even if I'm offering to help them against the turks, give them money and trade rights.

It's an in game command that was no longer carried over to M2TW from RTW. If Roma Surrectum is a M2TW mod (sorry, I don't know :S), then the best way is to ask them how they did it, and perhaps show us then?

Also, make sure that you offer far more than just several intangibles - money, settlements (notably Constantinople), trade rights, and the like. If you have bartered any settlements off them, destroy everything inside, and then give them back, etc.

    I'm afraid it's a RTW mod

I've often thought about this in SS as well. I love RS mod (can't wait for RS2!!) and the forced diplomacy is one of the great features. Too often I find myself focusing on one enemy to break their military might and try to be diplomatic, because I am an opportunistic player and don't like to be at war much. But it's hard with the money scripts since they have such vast armies they never want to ceasefire unless you give them an arm and a leg. And when you're beating your adversary, then asking for a ceasefire you'd think they'd have enough sense to take that agreement no questions asked. I would like to see a feature like this in SS also. You're not alone my RS brother!

In 6.2 the AI will surender (sometimes ) when it's beaten, your offers also have a change of being accepted (lets say: a reasonable one about 50%)

Vaz is correct, the command used in rtw is "force_diplomacy accept" wich is not carried over to mtw2 so it can't be done.

Oke sucks, They also didn't carry the Population/recruitment over aswell. SO that you needed a certain pop. to recruit and disbanding them would give you more pop. Oh and this is OT but does anyone know when Halbbruders are recruitable for TO. I can already make ritterbruder

Sometime around 1320 IIRC. You need the "a new era" event.

I agree that the AI is a bit too stubborn in diplomacy. I offer them almost all of my treaury, trade rights, military access, map information, an alliance, and an attack on their enemies, but they refuse 99% of the time.

However, I don't think forcing the AI to agree with diplomacy is a good idea. We could demand the AI to give us 10,000 florins, almost all of their regions, etc. and they would be forced to accept.

That's what you would do. I wouldn't, it just spoils the fun. It's for the same reason I don't cheat (well except when I'm modding, but that doesn't count), it's not fair. But it would allow you to make the AI reasonable.

Would be great if AI would accept offers to attack other factions and then actually did so. Would also be cool if you could request help (never works).

You can demand an attack (it costs tons of money but you can!), I sometimes have others destroy my enemies for me that way. But defensive help would be great if it could be demanded. Also for other nations, i.e. you could tell Denmark to protect Norway from a Scottish invasion (not realistic, but still)

Not only does the AI plea for peace (I've had Egypt do it every Turn for more than 60 years in my current campaign), occasionally they will beg to be your Vassals... Okay, so I've only had this twice, but it does happen.

Beg to be your vassal? I can't offer it in diplomacy.I always beg them to become my vassal. (Okay, I force them to )
But on the other hand, they AI sometimes demands :
    Accept of we will attack

    Please do not attack
