When make triarii's use swords?

I think though that using the spears they kill more, other than obciously have the pushing advantage. I would have liked more if they were killers with swords and the pushing ability with spears. Just to variate a little gameplay.

Am confused? You know triarii have swords as 2nd weapon, just alt click to use. A must when engageing other sword units as there is a bonus sword Vs spear.
The real question is what they did with their spears when swapping to swords? And where they keep them when you change back to spears?

What about when they are fighting another spearmen unit? Better fight them with spears?

No there is a bonus for swords Vs spear. So unless agaisnt Cav use swords.

If you are using the unit addon you should look at the spear units, which has sword as secondary weapon. We deliberatley gave this to some but not all. Making the choice of auxilia important. You will find this info ingame in the unit descriptions.
