Hello all,
I've been pondering, and I think it'd be a great addition to the game to replace forts with villages.
I'm a dab hand at messing with the buildings and units files, but the rest of it is a mystery to me, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I really need to know how to go about changing things, and what files to change, so I can:
1. place forts on the map at pre-defined points.
2. rename the fort text to 'village'.
3. have the fort perhaps act as a resource, or just give a flat +X cash/turn or do something in general.
4. have a script that enables an enemy army that captures it to gain X money and the owner lose X money.
5. either disables the actual destruction of the fort if it would otherwise be, or rebuilds it in X turns (which would be preferable).
6. somehow instruct the AI that it is more preferable to sack these villages if there is a large garrison in the city in the tile.
I realise I am probably asking a lot here, and the answer to most of these is most likely 'hardcoded, you can't do it', but I'm sure there are a few sharp minds here who can think of a scripted cheat or workaround, and I'd really like to do it because I think this would add quite a lot to the game!
I would like to release a heavily-modified (but far more realistic) version of a mod that includes this, to basically create the ultimate historical Medieval (sub)Mod.
So you can help my dream come true!
