Here's the funny story. I'm France, drilling through England (while being allied with actual England, long story...). I sent a spy further north and I see Scots besigeing Nottingham. And their general is named ":"!!! I repeat, his name is :. Have you ever encountered something like that? BTW. he's quite a good general too...

Well I presume : was avery popular name in Scotland in medieval times. I remember even the highlander was called thus!

Are you using 6.2? If so, I can see if this is a bug or just a typo and make a fix for you (but then you have to restart your campaign, so it's not very usefull)

No, I'm using 6.1, but it's not a big deal, it's funny actually... thanks anyway.Are you using 6.2? If so, I can see if this is a bug or just a typo and make a fix for you (but then you have to restart your campaign, so it's not very usefull

It means that a name entry for that faction is missing in the names file. But as Joris said you'd have to start a new campaign. It's probably fixed in 6.2

yeah i had this too with my scots campaign (which shut down with this "medieval has encountered... and will be closed" problem). i had even two .s. one was an admiral another was a general i got through marriage
