    Default Recruitment requirements

I'm trying to improve the graphical aspect of the battlefield show with more variety etc by compiling retextured units from a number of different mods without using a localization file to mess up compability with other mods. To this end, I've been able to add not only many new skins to existing types of units, but also some unit types that already exists in the game to factions that didn't have these types of units before, for example better-looking Prussian type of Grenadiers to Sweden and Saxony which fielded only the vanilla mitre type earlier. The game engine automatically fits the proper unit cards and unit descriptions to the new units for these factions in custom battles, but I'm not sure that it does something similar when it comes to the recruitment of the new units in the grand campaign. Do I need to edit the DB files for this and if so, which entries? I'd appreciate any help.

MEDEN AGAN (Nothing To Excess) - another precept inscribed in the aforementioned place

Since you haven't touch the db/units table (the column before the one of Region IDRef), everything should be o.k. in campaign also.

Great! Thanks for your expertise and willingness to share, my friend.

I can now keep compiling retextured units without worry. The file for this is already 800 MB and counting. Whenever it's ready, I will consider sharing it with the public (to assimilate all retextured units I want, however, I need to get deeper into ETW modding first, time permitting). But Applelover and Swiss Halbardier are already doing a great job addressing the problem of different .loc files with their Unit Packs Compatibility Project, so maybe there's not much need for it. I just don't like to have the recruitment selection cluttered with units and the stats of new units frequently needing to be edited to get in balance with the rest.

As far as you don't change the name of a unit and leave vanilla one you don't need to worry about _loc. If you change it then you have to enter new entries in _loc. This is determined in db in the place I've noted in my post above. Same with icons. Icons are determined in the second column before RegionIDref (info card) and in the third before (small icon cards). So if you want vanilla, just make sure that you will not change any of these vanilla entries.
