Greetings Mortals, Im Horus (HorusHeretic on RN forums) from the Dawn Of War Modding Scene. i have been since '06. So as you can likely tell im a bit of a warhammer fanatic.
This is my first post here and i am interested in how moddable the game is and what its limits are.
ill post in a format so it will be easy enough to answer with a likely yes or no system. Take note that i haven't played the game and i was "recommended" by a few friends to mod it.
Models:
What format do the models have to be for working in game?
Does the engine support Tri's or Poly's?
Whats the average polygon/tri count for a model and can the engine handle higher count models?
Textures:
Can the engine handle bump/normal, self illumination, reflection and specular maps?
What texture sizes do the maps have to be if there is a limit?
Lighting and camera:
How flexible is the camera in modifiability?
How flexible is the lighting system?
In game:
How flexible is the game code? (long winded speech isn't required)
How are squad upgrades handled if any?
Can units gain experience and wargear/equipment?
T'is all for now but keep in mind these answers will determine wether the game engine is to my liking and wether or not ill buy the game and mod it![]()
