    Default A Man of hour

    Hello guys

    I wan't to ask 2 questions.

1.I got an event called A Man of Hour in my campaign as Norway,so i wonder when/how do this happen? Is it when a captain do well in the battle?Anyway he did become the savier of norway from the expanding danes.

2.I played as Venice and i played on very hard,10 turns in the campaign i realised that this was to hard for me but i kept play until i only had Iraklion left and 1 general(doge).I'm just curious,if he dies,do i loose the whole game?

    1. Yep if a captain does really well in a battle, there is a chance that he will be promoted to general.

    2. If every member of your royal family dies, then yes you lose the game.

Not sure if it has to be a heroic victory, but the odds have to be pretty bad against you.

Not necessarily, even then. But your chances do increase.

I seem to be getting Man Of the Hour a lot in my latest Genoa campaign. I think it has to do with your Generals to region ratio as well. Let's say you have 1 General compared to having 20 provinces, then if a non-general unit group attacks / gets attacked by a rebel force, or a faction you are at war with, and you have either a Clear or Heroic Victory, then the chances of getting a "Man Of the Hour" event are good. I'm not sure about the numbers, but this is from personal experience with SS 6.2.

    Exactly

But I think they become FM not general, no?

No, confirmed to become General - man of the hour is a lesser adoption, 2 Lesser Adoptions = Adoption into Family Member.

    A Man of hour
Ya have to love this feature of the game. It's saved my hide and helped me build my "home cities" many a time. Plus if your a purist, you can always decline it...

Captains who lead successful armies can (in certain circumstances) get MotH.
Existing Generals can get MoftH and be adopted as family members.
But so much depends as has been noted above on whether you "need" more generals.

I know for certain, that you get MOH according to the general and settlement ratio. If you have, as stated above, 1 general for 20 settlements (for example), either its a heroic or just a fight against a single rebel unit, you MUST and prolly WILL GET MOH.

To add on to what I was rambling about, all your Captain needs to do is win his battle, it does not matter if its a Heroic, Clear, or Average Victory, all 3 I have received the MOH event. And one of the Family Members with space in the family will adopt him, making your Captain a General as well as a Family Member.

On another note, Generals that are trained in Fortress' or Citadels are already Generals. But to make them become a Family Member, they will also have to win a battle.

It also seems to have something to do with the proximity to your capital, though I may just be talking nonsense.
