Do arrow-towers have infinite arrows?

I am sure that they do, but I ask anyway (so that I know someone is deliberately damaging my game).

I put some undesirable general that I want to get rid of, in front of the arrow towers of a large city or huge city. No ballistas or such things have been used on the towers.
The arrows struck the general unit until nearly the last man. Then the arrows stopped. The towers were still in enemy hands.

I ran the general unit to other enemy arrow towers, where no unit of mine have been in range, and there wasn't even one arrow coming out of them.

This is in IJ 3.0 mod. However, I clearly know that no mod ever changes the arrow-towers. So it is the same as vanilla.

I should think too that they have infinite arrows (it's a reason i don't like sieges, when you have captured a tower, they sometimes shoot your own troops, if you are in melee on the streets).

If you want to get rid of a general, put him on a weak ship, and look for some rebel fleets. Or let him fight alone against rebels.

Yes i do believe that the towers have infinite ammo.

Maybe it's something to do with the general not having a unit flag anymore when down to just the general...

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, yes they do, and I believe that they are able to use flaming arrows as well.

Yes yes they have infinite ammo and they do use fire arrows against siege weapons such as battering rams and siege towers.
