    Default Rebel units for Eriador.

    Yeh basically the one thing thats always put me off playing as Eriador is the lack of decent medium infantry. And so i wanted to get the City Guard spearmen and swordsmen and maybe a couple of other units that the Rebels have and give them to Eriador. Makes sense in my opinion. Anyway, i realize that giving ownership of them to Eriador doesn't exactly do anything. Anybody know if this is even possible? Also, how can i make Rohan Spearmen actually recruitable by Rohan in the campaign? I simply just don't understand why they were taken out in the first place. PS: The only way i can access this site now is via a proxy sucks gratuitous amounts of bollocks. I'm using the lastest version of FireFox for Vista. Simply not understanding. Help?

    You have to edit the export_descr_building.txt file, tweak around with that. To make the unit available to another faction faction you have to add the faction name to all of the lines.
    So to add Rohan Axemen to Mordor

    This
    recruit_pool "Rohan Axemen" 1 0.25 2 0 requires factions { milan, } and region_religion northmen 20

    Becomes

    recruit_pool "Rohan Axemen" 1 0.25 2 0 requires factions { milan, england, } and region_religion northmen 20


    I think anyway, am probably wrong though :S Someone more experienced and better at explaining things will help you soon I am sure, but try tweaking around with export_descr_building.txt I'm 90% sure that's the file to change.

    Where is the unit database file? I've been trying to replace Dale Swordmasters with Dismounted Numenorians visually or just add Dismounted Numenorians to Dale (just for fun) but I can't seem to get it right. DN's aren't in the building file and changing the model roots for Dale Swordmasters doesn't work either. Can anyone help me with this? I found a thread about how to add a unit to a different faction but it was a bit over my head. I understand that doing this isn't very fluffy but I like the look of the Dismounted Numenorians. Thanks in advance for any help!

    you have to go to model.db too to add "turks" as one of the unit skin/model...lot of work you will have to do all over again after the release of 1.4...truly, you better wait a little at least and play with other factions until Eriador is redone...
